Something I don't like about high powered cars

...WA state is F'd up in this regard (see my prior post)
We once had plain clothes female deputies driving around in unmarked hopped up , red 5.0 mustangs, baiting guys to race.
This was done by a local sheriff's dept (pierce county). It ended up being challenged in court and some judge said no more, but upheld the infractions issued.
WSP seems to have taken note. As I understand it the ADU has a pretty wide allowance on what they can deam "agressive driving" and a whole range of available bait cars, elevated fines for AD, etc...
ADD ON: one used to be able to spot any WSP car, unmarked or otherwise, by the exempt license plate and "WSP" letters on it, the latest batch have normal everyday plates w/ tabs.

I got pulled over by an Arkansas state trooper for going 20 over the speed limit (I was on the phone and didn't even realize my speed ) asked me if I knew I was speeding and I said I was on the phone didn't even realize it and then he noticed my car was a hellcat wanted to look at it and let me go free ,wow whats not to like

Can a nark smoke a joint, hand it to you then bust you and not be guilty themselves? Can a lady actually go thru the act with you, then arrest you but allow themselves to walk? So can another break the law, either break the speed limit, and engage in a race, then arrest you and walk? Damn it, is it still the USA on that west coast?

I respectfully disagree, 72. Here in Texas we are all one party controlled (which I generally think is a bad thing) and what I see on a day to day basis is that it is far more a question of who has the money, and who is in the in "in clique" as to how much favoritism and bending of the rules you get, as opposed to just a political or party oriented thing. But that's just what I've personally seen. And that crap churns my stomach. Poor latino gets the book slammed on him for drug possession with no priors. Same charge but its the son of one of the white local money bags, and its deferred adjudication. All should be equal in the eyes of the law. This kind of bullshit is why many of our ancestors left England and other places to come here.

All I can say is I have seen some messed up s - - t from the politicians in Wa state - they don't call it the left coast because of the position on the map... If it werent for family, job, and other factors here I would welcome a place like Texas to call home.

I hear you but honestly, I can’t think of anything I don’t like about high powered cars...people can be annoyed by the sound of the power or losers with oversized pipes to make their cars louder can throw down the gauntlet...it all just makes me laugh. The gas station dirty looks from hybrid drivers are just as amusing.

Maybe it’s because I don’t care what others think and never more so than when I’m behind the wheel of one of my ‘Cat’s...it’s just not easy to wipe the smile from my face.

One other thing to add to my old client "what to do when you are pulled over" (note, there is no "if" in that statement). DO sign the ticket if the officer writes one. Signing is not an admission of guilt and is only a promise to appear in lieu of being taken to jail. If you refuse to sign the officer will have to arrest you.

I wasn't kidding about possibly picking up a P85D used. I am very intrigued by those cars. As we all know, it will meet or beat a stock hellcat in the quarter (but is toasted above that). So it is no slouch. Would be something nice to play with.

Drove mine across town and back this morning. What a great car. Problem is those Tesla’s don’t make any noise. They would probably be fun to drive, but the sound of a screaming SC, exhaust and a bit of tire noise when you really hammer it can’t be beat. The silence is weird.

Precisely why I drive my A8 in M mode. If I want to drive “spiritedly” but not full w/o, it won’t downshift and scream bloody murder. Just accelerates smoothly and goes about the job without all the drama. I’ve found this method to be the ticket without getting one or looking like that guy in the green Hellcat in the Allstate commercial. “You wanna go bro?!?”

I experienced today something I really dislike about high powered cars (and always have). I can be just driving comparatively spiritedly, having just a little fun, but because of the cars power (and sound) everyone thinks you're WOT or otherwise acting the fool. I can be at 3/5 or 3/4 and Vin Diesel or Johnny GT Mustang thinks you're WOT throttle and throwing down the gauntlet.

I disagree and what I love about this car, else I would still own my E550 which has a lot of power and not loud, and boring, yet fun.
