So, I won Red List on Saturday. I did hear a slight noise once and found 2 more golf balls that became dislodged. I can't really see up under there and don't know if I got them all or not. The Panel is acting like it will tear when I try to remove it so I go in from the trunk.

Me and my good friend Dan were having the HOOSIER WOBBLE with our Demons. He was so concerned he said he might not make any more passes (he had made 2 so far). After I got my scored passes in I trailered my car and had time to help. I found 21.5 PSI in his rear tires. I have always thought it is a loss of traction AND the tire getting up on the crown because of the speed and the high pressure and the bias in the Diff was transferring torque back and forth. I had the wobble on my first couple passes but I kept lowering my PSI back down to 19 or slight below 19. So the rest of my runs pretty much did not have it. Dan asked me to make a pass in his car so we let it cool down for a while with the hood open and then put it in the staging lanes. I adjusted the PSI to 18.5. So, 3 PSI lower. His blower was still about 160 Deg and I moved in to the staging lanes. I was in the water box and this guy, that you KNOW will break (older Supra boosted to god knows what), blew up something at 1/3 track and proceeded to spin across both lanes and hit the wall. So, a 1 hour delay sitting with the hood open. Blower still about 160. Oh, and the Power chillers were not enabling because of the cold ambient temps. But now his was. With a FULL max prep right in front of me and the Power Chiller, his car put up a 9.76 and NO WOBBLE.

Car made 12 straight passes at 138 MPH. It was set on kill except car was not running the Power Chiller, it was never cooled down and many times idled for long periods and heat soaked (worse without the power chiller), SS100 fuel starting at 5/8 tank and ending at 3/16 tank AND I was launching at 800-900 RPM. Last number is the Points for that run. Pairing is mostly random and sometimes you get an 11 second car and sometimes you get an 8 second car.

I feel compelled to talk about the Hoosier Wobble some more. One friend posted that he runs 22 PSI and he never has an issue. Every time I have had it, the problem seems to go away after a couple passes. I wonder if it is more of a tire tempature issue. I have heard of people going UP in pressure and that fixed it. But, the tires would be warmer too. So, maybe more of a coincidence and assumptions are made. I have also gone to a different track with different prep and zero wobble. But maybe it was warmer? Saturday it was 51 deg when we started and by the 3rd pass the wobble was gone. When it matters a lot I am kind of agressive on my PSI (19). I do not want to blow a run. So, maybe it was the tires warming up on Saturday that corrected the problem. The only other possibility is the down track prep settling in or being driven on. But, Dan's car did not wobble on my 9.76 pass at all on a fresh prep. Only other thing is the tires were raced on a couple times that day AND it was warmer at 3:30 PM. Maybe the sidewall construction needs some flexing to get happy. Maybe the higher pressure avoids this issue. But honestly I have not had good luck at 22 PSI. I have spun a few times, even on above average prep, maybe due to my driving style. So maybe the above mentioned friend always races on above average prep (I think he does).

I am getting 2 Demons ready for the Legion of Demons event in Houston. My car is sitting with no fuel in it. I drained all the SS100 out when I unloaded it. All my car needs now is the MS109 blend and I need to check the Diff braces. The front one keeps pushing out that rubber cushion. I might install that new Low Temp heat exchanger. I need to learn how to remove the front bumber cover assembly. Just need to dive in and get the experience.
The Blue one got a re tune with arguably one of the best tuners in the country on E85. Then I installed an Boost a Pump and ATI 10% lower Pulley and re tuned again. I installed the front Brace and a COX battery. Now it gets lighter front Skinnies and a Kirkey Race seat. Then I bit the bullet and ordered parts to re enable the steering column. $240+. This car will possibly have multiple drivers and heights from 5'4 to 6' (me included). It will go for a personal best and then be put out to pasture as is. But right now on the street it is a "Pole Finder". Even with the 315/50R17 ET STREET R's. It almost got away from me data logging. I learned that lesson. After that, it was 5th gear MAN starting from a lower RPM only. 1213210913.jpg

On the Hoosier Wobble. I have some more testing/observing to do. But I now think it could be a difference in Pressure from side to side that causes it. OR, a difference in Tempature from side to side that causes it. Every time I have had that issue it seems to go away after a couple passes and as the day progresses.

Might want to try one of those tire covers that stick to the side of the car and keep the sun off.

I have never done this before. But this is the ONLY proper way to replace that cooler. it's not that bad once you have done it.

Then, I have my eye on that heavy bumper support. But I just CAN'T. 1214211437.jpg

I can't wait. It will be my first passes with the car set for a Personal Best. I will leave early and take my time. I literally pull at 65 most of the time.

Ok I admit I'm WAY late to this party and likely to be a bit off base wrt to the details. I followed Ron's trailblazing with his ORIGINAL one-seat Demon and how great that was back in 2018. So I read the original September post here but didn't quite get it. Did you buy back your original car or is this another 1 seater? If so, that's crazy. What's even crazier is that you bought it with 10K miles and it had no evidence of racing??

If it's not too forward for me to ask, how much did this second 1 seater set you back? I was toying with the idea to buy one if/when another low-mile example pops up. I think the 14 one-seaters and the illegal color cars will set the price market for Demons especially as time goes on.

Late congrats on 1 seating it again! :p

PS I assume u scored on your SS trade-in too. Great timing for that with this en fuego used car market!

This Demon is not the same one. My original that I ordered was SN: 465. It got sold to a used car dealer that then they sold it to a forum member @Demon1 . This one is SN: 1660. It was rare to find another one seat car. And, that is why I could not pass it up. The other reason was the price I negotiated was too good to pass up. My good friend Turbo Lou found the car and he informed the Toyota Dealer how hard it would be to sell because of the excessive mileage for a Demon and the one seat and not having the Crate. The asking price was 118k. But the total out of pocket if you include my Super Stock trade and including tax and license here in AZ was 102k.

You just missed out. A single seat just sold on E-Bay. It was a super cool car too. Red Seat Belt, Satin Black hood on Pitch Black ONE SEAT car. Never driven with 7 delivery miles on it.

So, we only know of 6 the 16 US cars. I think 2 went to Canada for a total of 18? Or, is it 14 US cars and 2 Canada for a total of 16?

I have one.
Tim has one.
Tom has 3.
This one on E-Bay.

The car did not have the crate items installed and appeared to be a typical 10,000 mile desert car. It was not abused but it was not cared for at all. Lots of issues with the paint and the plastic pans under the front were ruined from scraping on things etc. Oh, and the ever lurking Golf Balls.......The underside was weathered but not a spec of rubber in the rear wheel tubs or on any of the sheetmetal around them or on the exhaust or exhaust tips etc. There were also spider webs everywhere underneath. I am still finding and cleaning them off components etc. More evidence is he never even bothered to order the crate. So amazing that I was able to get it for $1. It's in the background of that pic............
