Lucky, I don’t know. If it was the driver side axle I would only have to check the diff fluid and pop em out. And the new ones are here. Since its the driveshaft now I have to drain the trans fluid and check I didn't overspin the transmission, if that happened I’m done till the fall. Would mean the entire drivetrain is shot. Its a small slim chance but I have better luck winning the mega millions than having a running car…

When the driveshaft snaps, there's no load on the trans so it can overspin?

You like that loop? I looked for a while and never could find a loop for our A8s.

wonder if there was ever any possibility of over revving the engine

The BMR loop says it doesn't work with 4" ds Thought that was odd being most buying one will have a 4" driveshaft

With the exhaust setup on these it'll catch the drive shaft if it breaks so wasn't a huge concern for me, but if there's a decent one available just makes sense I reckon.

I can remember when I was a kid and the inside windows of a 55 Chevy went red from the guy who was decapitated from the driveshaft coming up through the floor at Atco.

My thoughts are factory designed the parts I use to go 9s. I go 9s. So no worries

I'm not going to debate but safety should be your #1 priority.

Exhaust ain't catching anything. Its gonna play the drums and thrash on underside damage will be done if it breaks worse than mine did. If it breaks at the trans it can prevent a pogo incident, if it breaks at the diff or carrier bearing, buzz saw time.

That's the one that I have. Good to know that it actually works. I have a 4" driveshaft.

I'm actually amazed that everyone here isn't using a driveshaft loop. It's drag racing safety 101. I of the 1st mods that I did.
One of the first items I ever bought from @HighHorseman

Does this help if it breaks at the diff as well?

It won't pole vault.

So I should have 2 loops since it’s a 2 piece shaft?
