6 was a flat out mistake...

I put 7 Qts of Amsoil 5W50 Signature Synthetic in my rebuilt 16 engine. Put 7 in, ram it, let it drain back over night then modified my stock original OEM dipstick to read full at that 7qt fresh fill level. Did this so I can keep a good eye on oil level, raising or lowering as each is tell tale of something not right. Low, loosing oil to some where, either burning it, leaking it, or it going somewhere it shouldn’t be. High level either getting fuel contaminated, water contamination from blow by snd oil not getting hot enough to cook it off, or coolant contamination. It’s good to keep a close eye on oil level, it tells you tell tale things if you know what to watch for.

Every 5.7 hemi I have had takes 7 qts.
The 6.4 cars take 7 qts. So this car with the additional oil cooler only takes 6. Ya right.
My car when new drank a qt in 250-300 miles.
So it was 2 qts low technically. Not good.

I'm heading out tonight to see what my junk will do at almost 3000'. Eek.

Updated dip stick in mine. I put in 6.5 qts, back it off the ramps so it's level. Wait 5 min and check oil level and top up till in the middle of the dip stick range. It's almost 7 by then.

I wonder if the 6qt thing helped my original motor die. I ran 6 for quite a while till the dipstick was updated.

They had to change my motor under warranty.
So you may not be far off.
My car was raced alot so did it have enough oil all the time?

Went to track today, 3000 DA 😅😅, ran my worst 60’ ever, and 1 10th slower. 3.70 id going back in you guys are nuts with the 3.09 not enough gear. Locked myself out of laptop, no way to unlock it, so couldn’t data log or try two other tunes I have with more timing for the launch. Bit disappointing, but didn’t break anything. There were literally 10 cars, could have really dialed the car in with the other tunes. What a shame.
