28 sounds right for your setup.

Yes, I got new tires and they were the last week of February 2025 date coded. Tire guy had to play with the position on the rim a bit to balance with as little weight as possible but we got there.

Now if the weather would cooperate so I can go play at the track a bit. Track flooded in Feb so they didn't open first weekend of March, delayed 2 weeks. Then rained 3rd weekend. Supposed to rain this weekend. I'm losing interest.

I weighed the factory 170 lug nuts and they're .6 lbs. Wonder if titanium are worth it, although that weight is so close to the hub not sure.
It's still rotating mass

I've about given up on TNT prep, just a waste of time with a car making so much torque immediately. I'm getting too old and cantankerous to put all the work in just to spin 3 out of 4 passes.

I think I've found a little racing class I can enter where prep should be decent so I might give that a whirl. That and hunting private rentals are what I'll be targeting.

Well, seems the spring racing is gonna be a washout. Beech Bend has had rain almost every weekend since opening day first Saturday in March. The track flooded back in mid March, and has flooded again this past weekend. I'm hoping they can get a break to not completely blow their season.

Lots of rain sat in the area. Not the 1st time or the last. Crappy way to start the year

Yep it's a shame. They're trying some new stuff this year geared more toward street car folks like me and I'm anxious to try it out. It's called "Wild Street" and a 25 mile street cruise is required in a DOT legal car with registration, insurance, etc. Then it's an index race in .25 increments.

The Mustang tards always say my Challengers are boats, so no need to cancel your race for a little water.

My buddy just traded in his D170 on a ‘23 E63S wagon. Possible engine troubles had him worried. Have those reports slowed down at all?

Those are totally different cars. A high hp muscle car to a family station wagon. Any engine issue would be covered under warranty and for the common 170 owner they won't drive it enough to ever know, sadly

While that technically is a station wagon, it is far from a normal family car! Why trade a 2-door and go into a 4-door wagon is a bit of a head-scratcher to me though?

Yeah, it's no casual wagon.

Though he has owned multiple Demons, he is just a car guy, and many different kinds of cars can be attractive to car guys. He still has a Cuda in the garage, so he was splitting his very limited time between the 2 of them anyway.
Waiting on an engine (and trusting a dealership to install it) when we have such a short racing season up here just isn't in the cards for anyone. I think the market is indicative of how people feel about the cars, so maybe it's more than engine fear, but for him that was a primary motivator.

For most people a D170 is a 1 trick pony, and putting miles on it just doesn't make sense or isn't possible. We only get 40% of the year to drive it, then subtract bad weather and bad parking days from that...
@Speedy! - the reports may have slowed lately because 1/2 of the cars are off the road hibernating.

Still 2 different cars. One you will drive all the time the other on the weekends. That is why you buy a Charger Hellcat, get a tune and pulley change and have a daily family car that goes 9s

Unless your engine blows up, then you're not driving it anywhere.

not enough have had issue to worry about. Sorry but a real silly reason to get rid of a brand new car that is under warranty

I drive mine a lot. Over 3,000 miles on it now.

All these collector types wont be on their death bed thinking I sure am glad I never drove my car.

Enough have had issues that it is a concern. It's a very limited car and very few people are putting miles on them, so when you have more than a handful of issues known publicly, it's a lot to consider. These guys will be out of warranty before the car has any miles on it.
He did what he wanted to with it at the track and on the street, get out while the going is good.

This individual is not a collector. He had a 15" conversion among other things on his '18 and raced the crap out of it. He's my age, not some old fart sitting on 3 of them. There are still limited opportunities to put miles on the car so I can see why he would want something he can drive more often.
At your rate for miles, less than 3k per year, you'll be under 20k miles when your warranty expires. I understand as much as anyone, whatever miles you get in it are worth it, and many of them are WOT.
I drove my Hellcat a lot, over 15k per year. "A lot" is subjective.;)

I only shared because maybe other owners will be doing the same (selling) and potential buyers have heartburn over the thought of them getting a bad motor that won't appear under warranty because of their limited miles per year.
I've stated that the idea of having a bad motor is incentive to unload the car and move on, that's not disputable, but it is debatable as to whether or not it's worth doing, and I'm good with that. Opinions are fun.

I don't really think 3300 is all that's "limited" personally, great marketing tactics to create FOMO though.

I've been looking for a 911 Turbo for a while and have had a hard time finding one. They only make a few hundred a year and none are serial numbered and marketed as limited, just is what it is.

I would be tempted to buy one with motor Issues if it was cheap enough lol I redo the motor myself no problem lol, I just want the platform and the electronics. Hell, I think I’d be happier if it had a blown motor with a big hole through the side of the block would not bother me make it even cheaper lol
I have no care if it doesn’t have a warranty.
