I mentioned the trans prob, tomorrow morning I get to start making calls.

I like the idea of lowering except that I hope to get into the 9's some day and I don't want to dd difficulty. But after that...

I started this thread talking about the Kel-Tec 9mm carbine, but never bought one. I have used them, the trigger is terrible and the action is clunky as hell, but it folds!

Today I tried one of these:

It was wonderful! Action was not clunky and the stock trigger was very good! I'm going to have to do some thinking...

Run logs have been posted. I set a record in my class in the 1 mile and 1.5 mile in my class. They redid the classes last year so this is not that impressive.

Here is what I have found on speeds vs. gear:


1st -- 4.714 x 2.62 = 12.351 ( x 336 = 4,149 ) = 41.5 MPH @ 6000 -- 42.8 MPH @ 6200
2nd -- 3.143 x 2.62 = 8.235 ( x 336 = 2,766 ) = 62.3 MPH @ 6000 -- 64.3 MPH @ 6200
3rd -- 2.106 x 2.62 = 5.518 ( x 336 = 1,854 ) = 92.9 MPH @ 6000 -- 95.9 MPH @ 6200
4th -- 1.667 x 2.62 = 4.368 ( x 336 = 1,467 ) = 117.3 MPH @ 6000 -- 121.29 MPH @ 6200
5th -- 1.285 x 2.62 = 3.367 ( x 336 = 1,131 ) = 152.2 MPH @ 6000 -- 157.32 MPH @ 6200
6th -- 1.000 x 2.62 = 2.620 ( x 336 = 880 ) = 195.6 MPH @ 6000 -- 202.20 MPH @ 6200

So it looks like the trans is puking on the 4-5 shift. I hit maybe 120 and it bogs down to 118-117, then shifts.

I spoke to 2 Dodge people today, both said that maybe they can check codes and pressures but they won't drive it to 120 and they won't replace it without verification of a prob. They do not "fix" that trans, they replace it.

One thing I found very interesting was a Camaro ZL1 A10 that maxed out at 171 in the 1mi and 181 in the 1.5mi. My M6 did 174/185. I am sure happy I bought the HC rather than the Camaro!

You should check out the Sig version. Those are nice.

Local brought a beautiful indigo stock 2015 HC to LTA this year. To put this into perspective, my M6 did 174/185 and the stock RE did 179/191:

I know there is a lot of things they can do, but these guys run the events for their own entertainment and do their thing. I know most, if not all the organizers do not participate. Don't ask me...

I'm just happy they do it at all.

Insurance costs and worrying about ultimate liability is killing them. Vette club can’t do the full course at BIR because of track and insurance costs. So they are sticking to the short Comp Course. The price point they need would turn off most participants.

There were several C8's and the fastest 1mi was 170.297 and the fastest 1.5mi was 181.134. There were no ZO6's to my knowledge.

Compare that with the stock 2015 HC in Post 32 which did 177.919/190.486.

HC's are truly amazing cars!
