Saw a fairly small nick in it, but being on black paint I can notice it when I wash the car.

Because it's so small, I was thinking about just getting a bottle of generic silver touch up paint and giving it a quick dab.

Bad idea? thnx

Thank you sir.

In the meantime, I went to an auto parts store and matched the decal's silver to one of their universal silvers.

I gave it a little dab yesterday, and today it's raining so I'll check back on it tomorrow.

If I don't like the results, I'll get that Sharpie a try.

Update: I tried both the Universal Silver paint and the Silver Sharpie, both have a "metallic" finish to them while the hood stripe is more along the lines of being "flat". That means they reflect differently than the decal and therefore becomes somewhat noticeable. Oh well, what are you gonna do.

Just leave it be, sometimes trying to fix stuff like that makes it worse. My DD needs a lot of touch up. Leaving it be and will have a paint shop touch it up or refinish some of it eventually, but not letting it drive me too crazy

Maybe Testor's or other similar model paints has a flat silver ?

Someone like Hobby Lobby or an art supply store may have what you need.

First off, I don't believe you're sorry!
Secondly, you're not helping!

That will be all ...
