Leather rub/squeak on SRT steering wheel

Been noticing on my wife’s SRT that the steering wheel will rub while turning at low speed and almost make a leather on leather rubbbing sound. Wheel doesn’t get stuck or jam, but you can def hear it and feel a rubbing resistance. Anyone else experiencing this?

Some silicone spray on a rag to the area will take care of it.

My Charger did the same thing when new. I did the right thing and ignored it. It went away.

It’s coming from where the actual back of the steering wheel connects to the steering column

My first SRT,(2006) had the same squeak, and every one I've had since has the same squeak. I've apparently blocked it out and don't hear it anymore. Especially over the exhaust on the newer ones.

MY '16 is starting to make a rubbing noise when turing the wheel, especially at slow speed.
Just came from the dealer & they were clueless.

It is definitely coming from inside, can't tell exactly where tho ??
