Hi Linda, yes I plan to race. But I'm going to do it differently than most. For one, I am not going to make any changes at all from OEM stock. I am keeping the Nittos, no pully work, no aftermarket tunes, etc. Why? Two reasons. One, I have the extended BtoB warranty out through 2026. And to maintain that (including racing) I don't want to give Dodge ANY ammunition to NOT cover a claim, including at the track. The second reason is I want to see just how close I can come (over time, not immediately obviously) I can get to that 9.65 (with Nittos and no mods). I weigh 155lbs so that helps a bit, lol. One thing I would likely do is on race day is dump the seats. To me, this is still an ok maneuver since 16 one sear cars were equipped that way from the factory (even though my personal car was not one of them).
My Demon isn't (and won't be) a daily driver but I do take it out when I feel the need for some spirited driving on our well-maintained backroads
. Back in early July, I had my dealer install the OEM 840hp chip and HO panel. I also have 100 octane in the tank so I am ready for Bandimere. Unfortunately, the 1st time I tried to get out there in late July we had severe weather roll through and my fun was done before it even began
. I plan to get her out there again though and despite the bad air here in Colorado (I'm at 5600 ft) it will be good practice (and great fun) to get her on the path to sub 10s ETs (even if that outcome will likely have to take place out east).
Oh yes, which reminds me. Next on my to do list is to find and buy a good rig (trailer and capable pickup/SUV) so I can get to these National Demon events. Right, now I don't have anything to speak of which is something I'd like to rectify soon.
