Dodge has a you tube video on fob battery replacement for a 2020 Challenger.
Might help you out, just Google 2020 Dodge Challenger battery fob replacement and it will pop right up.

Just changed the key fob battery on my 18 Challenger. CR2032 was the battery number, lasted 23 months.

Easy. Pull the glove box key and use a coin to open the fob. Battery is not soldered in like your GTO.

I just replaced mine too , it lasted 2 yrs. 9 months , like @jroyk said - take key out of fob & you'll see a spot to put a coin or I used a large flat head screw driver & twist to separate the two half body fob. then you'll see the battery , pay attention to the way the battery goes in , 1 side is + & 1 side is - . I found these batteries at Harbor Freight , same part # , 4 pack for $5. I called a battery place & they wanted $8 for 2 & $10 for install , LOL.

My F150 still has original battery , 7 yrs. old.

Not rocket science. Are people saying it’s difficult? It’s not.

no, not difficult, thought they were "not replaceable" by design

I made a guy at the dealership change the battery for me. Sure the battery cost $2.00 more at the dealership, but if they broke the key then they had to pay to replace it.

Ok, here's the situation: pulled out my ratchet screw driver from the desk here, attached flat blade, ejected physical key, pried open case (with a few small curls of plastic, more on this later). Popped out battery, grabbed battery box, inserted appropriate number battery (last one in the box, by the way). Test fob. Car does not detect. Earlier today the car still detects the fob if you get within RFID range (can open the door with the handle as usual). So, open fob, check battery voltage, 3.31 volts, examined contacts, all appears good. Sufficient dielectric compound on contacts to leave small smears on new battery. Seal battery back up. Take both red fobs and black fob out to drive way. Neither red fob signal received by car from 35-40 feet. Black fob received like nobody's business.

Disappointed.

Anyone have this BS happen before? Black fob working seems to indicate something is wrong with the red fob transmitters. Power on the changed battery fob is good, not opening second red one yet. Don't get it.
Had the oil changed today but the car would not remote start yesterday or this morning (thought perhaps it was being temperamental as it on occasion has been).

Ideas?

Oh, and I trimmed the little curls down, as they were leaving a tiny tiny gap on the key ring end of the fob (not wide enough to prevent contact, etc...

Next step - get another, new, battery, change red fob number two and see if that will work.

On the GTO they're soldered in... as a sop to GM's key making operation.

Try putting away the other red and black fobs (mine go in the gun safe) and try one at a time...maybe all three together screwing something up or fighting for the same signals. Weird...

I assume you have the new battery placed in fob correctly with the orientation of positive & negative side of battery ?

No, long pause between the tests of each, and on the first post replacement test the original fob was completely alone.

lol, yes, oriented correctly. Even if it wasn't the second red fob should still work (has not been opened)

Thanks, but not a replacement issue.
