Power Steering Fluid

My 2018 Charger Hellcat got an oil change today and my tech (who I always go to) noticed Power Steering fluid was mid way through the high and low fill line. Was going to fill up and parts said (for my VIN) that is takes Red ATF. My fluid is clear. Looks like hydraulic fluid vs red ATF. Did Dodge start using Red ATF vs clear hydraulic fluid?

They didn't have clear in stock and didn't want to mix fluids.

Anyway, thought I would share.

You just pump it out at max rpm anyway.

My 2017 is clear fluid, I thought they all have the same.
I bought the correct stuff I think at O'Reilly auto parts & it wasn't cheap.

Yeah, not everyone does/did.

This goes back to 2015 and the first ones.

Mine burped out some early on, I filled it to Full, it burped again, I left it where it was and it's been fine since.

Mine is right in the middle...tech was going to top off for me. Will be leaving at half. Good info Bull. I'm ok with it at half if bringing up to full might cause a problem.

Just keep an eye on it, as long as it's steady state, leave it alone.

I think the issue comes from being pegged at max rpm for more than a brief second, like in my signature video.

Now if you want get fresh fluid in there, maybe consider taking some out and refilling to the same level?

In fact, I should do that myself.

I was thinking that too, those long top end runs might do it.
I've had mine to 165 mph for a split second, 1 time.
The rest is 140 mph for a split second, a bunch of times.
