Just wanted to know when and what (any special tranny fluid) all you guys are using on the 8 speed. She takes a beating so I want to take care of it.

It takes a special ZF fluid that is not cheap.
You should familiarize yourself with the procedure for the trans oil change.

Surprised they even let us access it. My old 2001 MB S-class the trans was a fully sealed unit that was generally expected to last the life of the car.

The good for life is what they say. Although our 8speed is serviceable.
The pan incorporates the filter and is about 300$ up here. The oil is about 50$ a qt.
The process requires the trans to be in a certain temp during the operation.

How many miles you guys doing trans change? I got 21000 on the charger now. I’ve done a diff change and a bunch of oil changes but no trans change..
