For me I mostly have bug splats on the front and brake dust down the sides....so plain ol pressure washer does the trick. And not an 3 zillion psi deal.....cheapo Simonize electric 2100 psi.

I've got a large collection of those green microfiber knobby mitts from Autozone (though they're getting harder to find); I typically have used these with a rinseless wash after rinsing the car down with a power washer (I'll do a foam soak first if there's dirt from driving in the rain, etc).

However, I'm trying this new sponge I found from Esoteric Car Care; they're imported from Japan (even the packaging is completely in Japanese). Initially I was skeptical since the first time I wrung one out, I tore a "tooth" off, but after figuring out the best way to handle it, I've gotta say I'm impressed.

They're very soft but hold a lot of liquid; you don't apply any pressure, just let the weight of the sponge and the rinseless wash create the pressure. You would NOT want to use this to remove any dirt/grime/bugs etc; you'll still want to use the knobby mitt for that, but for purposes of a quick "slick up" wash, these are great. They're not cheap, but you certainly won't introduce any swirls or marring with them either.

My previous Challenger was Pitch Black, so unless you want photos to prove my bonafides, take my word for it that I know what it takes to avoid swirls...;)

California car duster mostly. Other than that ill spray it off with water and use a Chemical guys micro fiber towel to dry, then apply Hydrosilex ceramic spray. Next I plan to try Hydro charge from chemical guys.

Once in a while I break out my Chemical Guys foam gun (not the cannon...this one works on a garden hose). But the amount of water which gets trapped in the trunk just drives me CrAzY! So most of the time I use Chemical Guys waterless wash. Good stuff!

Got a solution for this...

Buy some 3/8" Black U channel EPDM stripping and carefully insert it (facing up) into the recessed area on top of your tail lights. Start in the center (above the DODGE lettering) and work your way towards each end, carefully pressing it in flat.

This will prevent 95% of the water from getting behind your lights and constantly dripping onto your rear bumper after you've dried the car.

I am a huge fan of life's "little wins"...things like hitting nothing but green lights on the way home from work or dropping a piece of toast and having it land butter side up. I will follow your advice and I'm sure it will make my life just a little bit better. Thanks!

Foam cannon and mitt on areas that need it. In between washes I use a waterless wash and wax for touch ups. Really helps that the Hellcat is garaged...easy to stay on top of cleaning it.

Mostly clean: Rinse, foam, rinse, blower, light towel work with Rag Co. towels
Dirty: After the blower step above, pull it into the garage and do a one bucket ONR wash with quality mitts, then dry with quality towels (all Rag Co)

I have a company that sponsors my car for cleaning and detailing. Bullfrog Auto Spa. I know he uses a mitt though.
