Interested as well. Always afraid to have water flowing into my engine. Usually do waterless washes for my engine bays.

Lots of wet rags and some tools to help me reach into small areas. I don't spray down my engine bays like others do as my car is cleaned every few weeks under the hood so never really too dirty. I just simply wipe everything down.

Always used a foam cannon and rinse off with a hose. I dont like power washing bc of wires potentially getting messed up. A stream of water after spraying the foam cannon and agitating the soap in any of the dirty areas, is good enough and leaves it clean as hell. :)

Everytime I was the car, I just wipe the engine bay down with a cloth and some spot detailer.

On my "other" cars that see weather etc, I put plastic bags over fuse boxes and alternator and spray the engine bay down with cleaner/degreaser and agitate with a brush, then rinse with a flow of warm water and blow dry with an electric hand held blower.

I say this with all seriousness, my HC's engine doesn't get dirty...

I wipe mine down with a MF towel after washing the car and it's one of the cleaner towels when I'm all said and done.

Mines the same way. Never gets dirty. I’ll blow a little of the dust off with compressed air. I’ll use hyper dressing on all the plastic parts.

Hey, if it works...
Check out Turbo Tom's Garage on YouTube for more info. Works great on my TBSS and the wife's Colorado.

With that said, I assume you haven't seen any discoloration (smokey whitening of plastic), dry-rotting, other issues of connectors, wires etc?

(I know, but I have to ask so you can't say I didn't...)

Nope. Stuff is pretty mild. Just don't let it dry on - like any degreaser.

I carefully wipe everything down with spot detailer too. My car never saw (and never will see) water.

Use to use Formula 409 back in 2007 for my SRT. Worked well. Simple Green and Purple power, stay away from, it will etch your aluminum even diluted on a cold engine.

Now I use a foam cannon on a garden hose. I use Chemical Guys Black Light soap since my car is black. Foam it and then use a leaf blower to dry off everything really good. I wipe down things like fuse cover with Meguires Natural Shine. It’s water based so it doesn’t affect plastics and rubber. It gives it a new look without the used car lot over shine under your hood.
