Hey guys, looking for those who have experience with the stage6 2step box on their A8. Does it work well? Does it load the drivetrain and flash the converter up? Is the lowest rpm too much for the stock 15-16 converter?

It's controlled by the brake pedal and the lowest stall is 2000 rpm. Didn't fit my needs.

One potential problem using it with the stock converter is the low limit I believe is 2000 rpm. I had one with the OE electronics and it worked fine but I had a 4000 stall converter with a T400. If you go with a Demon or aftermarket converter then it should be ok. Or you could try it and find out and let us know what happens.

Hmmm.

They must of changed it since I inquired about it. I asked them if they could lower the rpm and switch it to a button control. They said no to both.

It would make sense for them to change it in my opinion.

HHP also sold me the wrong burnbox before lol. All of that stuff they list is just copied and pasted from the supplier and not kept up to date

I know it says 2k rpm everywhere but line fuman said that could be wrong. If it goes down to 1500 rpm should be perfect
I went directly to them to get it installed.

As I posted earlier, they told me that the lowest rpm was 2K.

Now it it's been changed, that would be great.

You can figure it out.

My opinion is unless you are racing in a class using a Pro Tree…. there’s no benefit. The main advantage of the 2-Step is reaction time. Even if you can get the thing to work at a low rpm… how’s that really going to work from a performance standpoint. You’ve got your engine banging away selectively not firing cylinders and when you release, it’s supposed to go to WOT instantly and like that? I can also tell you (because I use one) launching off a 2-step hits the tire harder than flashing the converter off a foot brake and will be more likely to spin the tires. Unless you’ve got the track and driveline to take it, you’re not doing yourself any good.

I was trying to set something up with a button control since my left leg is "lazy" because of my back. My reaction times were all over the place and usually not good.

Tried to get an actual line lock installed and couldn't find anyone to get it done properly.

Ended up just foot braking and living with it.

The ams does off the trans brake. I don’t have one so the two step will work just fine. This is doing the times ramp.
