Today a tool arrive from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Powerbuilt-640811-Back-Tap-Thread-Repair/dp/B0014FGVVW

Theory being I cannot get a tap to go in as the first set of threads are fubared. Lets go in through the back-door  How they got fubared: someone used a snap-on power tool on them and drove them in. And that someone wasn't me. I'll be giving that person the benefit of the doubt this time, and only this time.

Fucked threads:

Apply anti-sieze. Use product as on the packaging, threads are cleaned. When the plug went in by hand I started to cry from the joy of not having to pull the cylinder heads. To make sure the plug was actually in there I used the borescope:
PHO00084.JPG
I even tried calling @jonx96 with tears in my eyes jumping for joy.

it pulled some boogers off the threads

I am forever in @Hatermkr debt for pointing out this tool to me. Caveats there is some finagling as the hemi heads are thicker than most LS heads so you have to play with the turn nob and it is highly recommended you thread a bolt into the turn nob to pull up with. I have some other things to clean up like new exhaust gaskets that also got fucked up but yeah.

I always thought 13 ft lbs is the spec not 20??
I go to 14, 15 tops, and that’s dry threads, no oil, no antisieze, etc, just the zinc coating that is on the plugs.
Maybe I’ve been leaving them too loose??

Plugs with the coating are suppose to be dry. Probably doesn't matter if you add antisieze thou. I have never torqued a spark plug

I've been watching this thread, glad you got it going man. I've been there, I lost count of the amount of times I've been ready to roll my car off a cliff or light it on fire, but when it finally does what you want it's all worth it.

That’s awesome man, congrats! Wow, over 21lbs of boost. How accurate is your boost calculation ya think? 41 degrees I/c temp isn’t bad, was that at the top of the pull? What did the IAT end up being? Is that what you have smudged out? I’m in the market for a chiller I could really use real world results if anyone wants to Pm me please with ewhat the IATs are making 18+ lbs of boost. fI has a “close” to p&p kit now, and I know their core is better because I know who the manufacturer is and the technology they use, but I hate the front mount and their txv

boost is proportional to PR, PR is dead on in these cars.

(PR * Baro) - Baro = Boost

That was a pull after highway driving. So the 2.4 had fresh air over it.

If you have a 2.4… dont expect a lot of relief from any chiller. They just create too much heat. Also not indicative of sitting in a staging lane heat soaking with an exhaust leak like me 😂

My experience was that the FI Interchiller was way too slow to cool down at the track. If you let the car idle in staging to get the thing working and see your IC temps going down, you are putting heat into everything else. Sometimes the lanes are a drawn out deal and sitting there with the car running was not desirable. I used a trunk mounted icebox with the big DC pump. I eliminated the stock IC pump and heat exchanger, and the pump was manually switched. It worked great on the street with a half tank of coolant and the Interchiller. At the track…. Fill the tank with ice and turn the pump on when leaving staging. By the time you are done with the burnout, the IC temp is 40 degrees. 00BE9750-C42E-4F64-B533-49DD809CAF85.jpeg
