1100 mile round trip to Calif and then over to Phoenix to bring the new project car to the shop. It’s starting to take shape! Why the change in head studs?
I can't count how many times I used that transmission mount in custom applications.

He put in the big boy 625 head bolts and studs in.
I will let Marc clarify the reason why he did. Another good insurance part to protect the engine at his power level.

Just a upgrade to the ultimate in preparation for more hp. Don’t want to risk a expensive motor by lifting a cylinder head. Trying to stay one step ahead.

That cage looks different because it is. It’s basically a 7.5 cert without the added “funny car” hoop. It’s a 7.5 “prep”. The reason for doing that is to give the 4-link the necessary support to work at high power levels without bending the stock body all to hell. Everything gets ‘triangulated’. This car will end up a seven second ride but there’s a lot learning and experience to be acquired leading up to that. The owner/driver will be best served sneaking up on it. When that time comes, the additional bars will be a easy addition as all the hard stuff is done.

Haha. You better be sitting down. We’ve been discussing the future power plans with some people and one night I got a call at home from my engine builder. I’ll just say he expressed concern and a talk about cylinder head studs ensued. I didn’t sleep well that night... 😳

You’re good. I’m already making 1450 at the crank and the standard ARP package has served me well. The stock heads are more vulnerable than the Thiteks though and boost isn’t cylinder pressure so use your best judgment... 🤑🤑🤑

Stick with what you have. The HHP ones are ”only” $1300 or so, the ones Demon Performance sells are $3xxx.......

I'm upgrading to studs all around. But I went on HHP's website .... Wow they sure are proud of those studs ... I don't mind a few bucks more but wow .
The " million psi of boost " was sarcasm I know what cylinder pressure is . They why I said I was raising cylinder pressure and not boost . Ohhh and I have something cooking to up the anty.......
