There is a Gold Rush on Challengers

I find it curious that Gold Rush requires the satin black hood/roof/trunk. Wonder why.

Love Gold Rush or hate it, at least Dodge isn't afraid to offer a variety of actual COLORS. So tired of the only choices being white/black/gray on most cars with an occasional dark red/blue thrown in once in a while.
(Says the guy who had a flat gray Charger and now a dark red Ram....)

To my eyes, none of the current MOPAR colors nail the vintage colors. Approximations, sure. I think what's missing on Gen III Challenger's are the chrome accents. Rallye wheels would be cool, but not in the 20" format. The pedestrial spoiler sets the tone.

It's got black striping on the sides and painted black "T" sector on the hood. Are you referring to the gen III?

I think you're right. I considered removing the wrap from the top and rear deck, but the loss black wouldn't work for me. I went to the lot last week to check-out what they had in-stock? Not much there, but there was a particular Scat Pack (M6) that caught my eye. If I sell my 50th, I may go with a 392 Go-Mango shaker. I'd love to get a Rallye "T" hood, but MOPAR no longer offers it on 5.7 and 392 models. Why, I have no idea? If I keep the Gold Rush, I'll replace the Gold School wheels with satin black Demon wheels.

Citron Yella (or Curious Yellow if it was a Plymouth) was far more fluorescent yellow going into green than the photo you posted suggests, it would never be described as gold.

Like all of their high impact colors, "gold rush" is an approximation of early era. In terms of gold, there are several... Yellow (natural), Rose, White and Green. The latter three are alloys, of course. MOPAR's "gold rush" color is based on green gold. Looks fabulous!

Green gold: Unless one is familiar with the appearance of green gold, the term can be quite misleading. The green color, like rose gold, is very subtle. Green gold is best described as yellow gold with a slightly greenish hint (not a definite green like this background). Green gold is most noticeable when it is used in a piece of jewelry next to areas of yellow, white, and pink gold. The classic mixture that produces green gold is an alloy of pure yellow gold and pure silver -- though, for rings, harder metals such as nickel or zinc are sometimes added to make the gold more durable. 14K green gold would contain fourteen parts yellow gold and ten parts silver. 18K green gold would contain eighteen parts yellow gold and six parts silver.

1973 golden Ford LTD country squire station wagon. Now that is gold color there. With that classic wood panel plastic stickers.

My dads had a built 429 police interceptor. When you needed to pass, yo passed in that thing, even if it was 10 x 18 in solid lead.

There was also this 60s oldsmobile color that was like bone or dirty white. Ugly. At a safari park once a troop of baboons pooped on its roof and the color was a perfect match. Color matched the edible part of a banana. Different times

I wanted Octane Red, until I saw on in-person. Gold Rush was the reverse... I didn't care for it in digital photos, but in-person I loved it. The Octane Red has a purple hue from what I recall. Sort-of raspberry, maybe? Sinnamon looks sort-of orange to me. I thought I would like it more than I did. At the end of the day, there's a color for everyone. More-so than other manufactures anyway.

I don't recall what Chevy called their version? Here is "Papa John" with his (now recovered) stolen Camaro Z28... I don't recall if Chevy used metallic or non-metallic?

Technically Gold Rush is a free color choice like all the others, but it requires the black hood/roof/trunk package ($3495) or the T/A package ($3995). So yeah...not so free.
