Thanks for the suggestion!! I Plan on pressuring the oil system via the oil pressure sending unit port and turning the engine over a few revolutions by hand while it has 15-20 psi of oil in the galleys before firing her up.

I have a question about the valve springs. Were they just a piece of mind thing with the RE/Demon clone cam, or were they needed?

The Demon/RE cam clone can work with stock springs. A friend of mine who did a engine build at the same time had issue with his valve stem seals and suggested to change them why the heads were off and if I was taking the springs and all apart to change the valve stem seals I figured it was a good time to upgrade the springs to some thing a bit better is the only reason I changed them.

The OST demon cam will work fine with the stock springs . ( I did it for a year ) but with the heads being off its way easier to upgrade now for piece of mind and future upgrades .

I would upgrade springs also but for the guy that just wants to change cam in car it can be done without springs it sounds like. Does anyone have the the two cam numbers lift, duration (Hellcat, Demon)?

Yes that's what I did . I just bought the cam and stabbed it in and reused all other stock components . They are the same as the demon .

Has anyone thrown one in without a tune? I know with my old fox body and Mass air it would run fine doing that

Guess your son never 'caught the bug'. Funny, my father was an avid model rail roader my entire life (and before) and I never 'caught the bug' at all. I have a piece from his collection and a complete set he bought me and the wife for our Xmas tree, but I only keep for remembrance of him. They're never used.

I have a piece from his collection and a complete set he bought me and the wife for our Xmas tree, but I only keep for remembrance of him. They're never used.

My son has the car bug, but he thinks I’m his mechanic, engine builder, body man, troubleshooter, etc, etc, etc O, and money tree as well 😂
