I haven't even sat down and read everything about it but if you hook at the track not sure how it will help you. Someone that is hit or miss then it may have to be looked into further.

My thoughts also. I am cutting 1.50 -1.53 60' with a full weight cat on stock power with stock 2.62 gears. I don't think any more can be gained without adding power or losing weight. Now if I went to some of the other tracks around me this may help.

Paladin, have you seen anything quantitative that you can post on the street? Times, greater speeds in a given area, etc?

Let me help. It is tough for anyone to believe opinions or subjective stuff. What I have been saying is the difference is rather subtle. I had our marketing people do this yesterday. Sorry, he did not at least put a sound track on it. He did such a good and fast job, I did not want to go back for re-work.

Anyway, bottom- best lap last year, this car.

Top, best lap this year this car, the DS unit was the difference.

I keep talking about and they keep talking about stability and it’s ability to keep the ride reasonably soft and forgiving unless challenged. Most of the lap shows rather similar data in the corners. However, the most dangerous and most technically challenging is the potentially high speeds and potential of gaining time in what is called the Kink and IMO the semi straight track that follows, encased by walls on each side. Just prior to that is the legendary chicane. The differences for me begin in the Chicane, through the Kink and beyond. It is a bit of a driver preference on corner entry speeds, yes. But you need the confidence in your car to push it a bit. It’s all good but at about 1:35 the difference I am talking about becomes apparent. Plus on the lap last year, I see I let it rip into the Kink, only to hit the brakes and be timid after that v. this year where the speed is more smooth followed by INCREASING speeds OUT of the Kink. The result was getting down to Canada corner much quicker. That segment displays what I have been trying to say with regard to this item.

Seeing a bit of odd behavior with mine, and wondering if anyone else has seen this.

Default Mode in my car is set to 700+, Street, Street. If I bring up my SRT pages and select Track (700+, Track, Track), I get a yellow triangle and exclamation point beside both the power setting as well as the suspension setting, and a message saying that these settings cannot be changed as this time. (even though I'm not 'changing' the power setting).

But if I go from Default to Sport....THEN to Track, all is good.

More of an annoyance than an issue, but just curious if anyone else has seen this...

I have seen steering stick for a few seconds going to track. I saw that before the controller also. Sometimes I have seen other stuff, but again, saw it before it also.

First time seeing anything like this for me, and it started happening as soon as I installed this.

Maybe I'll look for a fuse to pull for a bit, or disconnect the battery for 10 minutes or so to see if that takes care of it. If not, no big deal. Like I said, more of an annoyance than anything. And the improvement (at least on the street) is well worth it. I'll see how it behaves at the track in a few weeks.

Minutes, huh? It don’t take that long when mine sticks. You may want to call DS and see if others are seeing the same. Not seen this on both Forums yet. How do you like it otherwise?

If pulling fuse 48 doesn't help, that is going to be my next step. Again...more of an annoyance, but it can be resolved, then I'd like it to be...

So far I love it. I've only had a chance to drive on the street so far, but it certainly makes a huge difference. Certainly a much smoother ride. Also (and this is kind of tough to describe), but my car felt like it wasn't really 'connected' to the road. Almost a feeling like the tires were over inflated. Putting this on took care of that. Feels much more connected and confidence inspiring. If that same improvement in feel transfers over to the track, I'm going to be a happy camper.

Reading your write-up in regards to the chicane and the kink, my track has something that sounds like it gives me same feeling (albeit at a much lower speed). Downhill slightly off-camber left hander leading into another off camber right at the crest of a small hill, followed by a slightly banked on-camber (thank you!) left. You really need to have confidence and commit to that first turn, otherwise, you either lose a ton of time, or are all screwed up for the next few turns. Hopefully this will be the ticket.

Having each shock working independent of each other should certainly help with nose dive under braking...not to mention overall cornering. Corner exit seems like it might be a bit less squirrelly as well.

All in all...looking forward to my track day...

You are correct on all accounts. I can really feel the 4w independent control also. It really is a great cruiser. We did 500 highway miles this weekend and it was great.

Also on the courses, use the whole road, they smooth out the rumble strips remarkably well.

Going to bump the thread...just less than a year old, so it's ok in my book.

Any input on form and function a year or so after using it? To be honest, I kind of passed over most threads as I thought it was more of a drag type-only setup. But seeing as it may aid in corners, but with expectations that we're dealing with physics / mainly OEM equipment (me) limitations, it may be worth a look. I'm more of the twisty type, and would welcome a somewhat cheap and simple upgrade.

Wasn't sure from reading, but is everything predefined? Such as Street, sport and track modes are all predetermined (does it know if I'm driving a NB/WB vs HC/RE?) Do we get any user software input...like I'm going to drag mode vs road course mode on uconnect screen?

I had to experience my car just driving down the street without it early this year briefly. I don’t want to drive without it installed ever! I have written a couple of reviews and replied to many posts. Besides giving up an incredible BETTER ride on the street, it stabilizes the car better at high speeds on road courses for me. It also is doing additional dynamic stabilization in the corners, on each shock, and that don’t happen otherwise. I drive Road America and BIR here in MN. Both allow the Challenger to reach over 150 (at RA several times in one lap) and at BIR it can get over 160 mph easy about every lap on the big straight, that we have seen some drag racers reach over 330!!

It has all its smarts built in. It reacts to drivers inputs. In other words for a drag race, it gets “triggered” for a launch when the brake is depressed and some throttle it applied to load up the drivetrain.

On a course, it controls all four shocks (independently) dependent first on the settings (street-sport-track), then depending on your braking and steering inputs, it works the shocks. One item that is interesting on a road course is you can run up on the corner rumble strips and with a DSC Controller installed, you are barely going to feel them and your air bags won’t deploy!

Your last question is about customizing the program. I am not as smart as Michael Levitas, or as good as a driver, so I cannot even think of what to change. Go get one if you can, you won’t regret it.

You missed 10-20 more mph in confidence btw the Kink and Canada Corner without it. It takes 10 minutes to put it in, that’s if you have problems!

I think it has been one of the most enjoyable/functional mods so far to the Hellcat. Definitely agree, you can tell the difference when putting back on the OEM after driving around with the DiabloSport / DSC controller.

If you get the DiabloSport version (~$1100), it is not programmable, and making changes with the DSC software will lock out the device after 3 attempts. You'll have to send it in to get it unlocked. I believe there was a DS software package in the works about 1 year ago. Need to follow up and see if they'll release it.

If you get the DSC version (~$1400), you can use the DSC software.

I kept getting an error message on the dash with my Diablo suspension controller and a very springy ride. I just put back the stock one. No errors and car rides normally now. Mike L gave me a return code five months ago. But 2022 has been a Ship show. Going to send it in this week for testing and repair.
