There has been plenty of people going mid 9's with 28' tall tires. Could play with timing on launch and make it a little softer. Control arms have helped some getting the tires square to the ground. I will say from my experience this last year the 3.09s were a little harder to hook. I'm going back to the 2.62s for a few reasons. Racerx ran 3.09s with a 28" tire and was mid 9s.
Could be more of a thought if you have 2.62s go with a 28" and if you have 3.09's you may need the 29.5" Simon was low 9's high 8's and ran a 3.09 with 29.5"
I got springs, control arms, diff brace, trailing arms and recently shocks.
I think I might can hook with the shocks now, but ever since I went e85 I’ve only been able to leave hard once
for tx2k I have to run a DOT tire. I’d really like to try leaving in first.
maybe it’s my car, maybe it’s tires, maybe it’s track prep, maybe it’s elevation but I’ve not had great luck on a 28” tire and I have 4 weeks to figure something out
