TX2K22 was a great time.
I knew to test and tune from A to B
to ONLY use the nitrous if needed in eliminations.
Well, I got confused on the car beside me and knew it would be a good run on the spray during test and tune so I sent it!
Heard it break up about 1000' but by the time I could get off the nitrous was a little too late.
Got a "smoke warning"
drove the car on the trailer, started it back where we were parked, and drove it off the trailer into the shop.
Wasn't sure what I'd find. Was HOPING for a head gasket but never heard of a stock engine hellcat blowing a head gasket. Figured it was a piston. Started looking this morning........
I did some research over the past couple of days and read that at a certain power level, the small end of the connecting rod will let loose at the wrist pin. I figured I had a ways to go before I got to that power level. Guess not.
Also, the required engine diaper did exactly as it was supposed to. I had zero idea to the extent of the damage as other than the smoke out of the tailpipe there was no oil anywhere. It sat on the trailer from wednesday until yesterday with no oil other than from the tailpipe. I parked it at the lift yesterday, and this morning when I picked it up saw a small puddle of oil. When I started to drop the diaper, it was full
Enjoy my suffering hahahaha
Now to decide what to do. I do have a spare BGE bare block so now my mind is all over the place
