So I will admit, I've been lazy and relying too much on the tire to compensate for my inability to get my foot of the accelerator while doing a burnout. So I've been letting it bang off the rev limiter when doing a burnout but I need to stop doing that since the 15's aren't going to take that, nor is my trans any longer. I'm currently back on a 275/60r15 ET Street R. Here are my thoughts:

  1. Knock off rocks picked up while driving in pits to staging lanes by hand.
  2. Check tire pressure, make sure I'm appropriate for the track (start at 18 usually).
  3. Quick spin before water box to get off the rest of the rocks.
  4. In water box, activate line lock (stock/tazer/burnbox).
  5. Apply accelerator till I see a puff of smoke in the side view mirror, do I need to get into second gear for this?
  6. Let go of line lock
  7. Come off accelerator
  8. Roll couple of feet and brake
  9. Ensure still in correct mode (Sport, leaving TC on this season)
  10. Activate launch control, set to a measly 1500 rpm as I don't want to flash converter.
  11. On both double yellow stomp accelerator
  12. Hold on.
Any commentary, tricks, trips for launching appreciated. Still waiting for the ET Street Radial Pro's to come in stock. :(

A short spin after the water box with a rolling burnout works for me. Never see any smoke. Street Rs.

with the tazer I would let my foot on and off the gas during the burn out. With the redeye if I let my foot off the gas it disables. 😢

on and off the gas? I get the tires spinning and shift to 2nd and sometimes 3rd then roll out. I do a dry hop to make sure there is no water on the tires. Sometimes it spins pretty bad so I wonder if there is water outside the box

Never spin in the water box. It can throw water into the wheelwell which will get on the tire.

I have raced the FAST and rarely do they put water out there. Our cars make enough power that they don't need it. Less of a chance to have it on the starting line also.

I drive around the water box and back down to it.... 98% of the time I am able to do it.
Back down to edge of water, NOT in it..... pull shifter to manual 1st...2nd...3rd...let of brakes.... burn to close to line.
Stage shallow. FLAT PUNCH it on 3rd yellow.

Here goes.
I stop with rear tires in the water box. Blip the throttle to get water on the tires while rolling out. Stop ahead of it where it's dry.
Do my burnout, letting the car shift to third and keep rpm at about 3000-3300 steady.
When I feel the rpm start to drop (you can feel the load) I roll out of the burn out.
Just trigger second build and leave as the second bulb goes out.
My car has nowhere near the power of most but this is what has worked very well for me.

You may have to do the 1/2 throttle full throttle launch, I don’t know if stomping it at the tree is going to work for you. Load it enough to get on the converter and not bog the launch but not so much as you break the tire loose. Quickly get to WOT… just not sure it’s a stomp.

The burnout process is something that is different for each person and car. It figures into a myriad of different options depending on power and how it's distributed, track and driver.
Each person needs to see what is the best way for them.
What works for me may not work for you.

This is why I never drive through the water, especially with the factory "fatty" front SuperStock tires on. 1.4s on factory Nitto drags, wheels off slightly. :)

It no go…..😂😂😂. Ah yes the smell of an over cooked clutch. 🙄 I can’t believe the Vette guy couldn’t feel that the tires weren’t spinning

Some people don't have any idea how things are suppose to feel. I had to drive a guys car at the track because he couldn't feel it is spinning:LOL:

Exactly. Me….. I pull thru the box far enough to where the tire is wet but I’m out of the water. I move the shifter from 1st to 2nd gear and push the button on the shifter handle to engage the Hurst Roll Control (line lock). I hit the gas and when the rpm goes to 5000 (about one second), I shift to 3rd (high gear) and release the line lock at the same time. I count to two (watching the rpm) and let off the gas. I down shift back to 1st gear and stage. Then… I push the trans brake/2Step button on the steering wheel and floor the gas waiting on the yellow light. Yellow flickers…. I release the button and 1.1 seconds later the front wheels touch down at 60 mph and the track comes back into view. Simple as that. 🤓 29B68EE4-D06D-4A8C-8D60-82B7D23C26EF.jpeg

I've been trying to get one installed for 2 years. No one is sure about how to exactly install it.
