Why? - Automotive Industry Electrification
“What’s impossible to ignore is the manufacturers’ product pipeline. One look at the product plans and it’s clear that the auto industry is in a space race. Not toward the Moon or Mars. No, towards electrification.” “$526 billion, that’s how much the automotive industry has put into electrification. There is no Mulligan on a half a trillion dollars.” "To remain relevant in this situation, future Dodge muscle cars will be electric." "Performance made us do it"
- Tim Kuniskus, Stellantis

I'm pretty sure that my Charger has a similar wheel.

I wouldn't doubt that. Cops and taxi drivers aren't always the slimmest.

"When the Daytona converts electricity to power, air flows through the exhaust system and the sound produced goes through an amplifier and tuning chamber at the rear of the vehicle. You can see and feel the pressure from the exhaust coming out the back."

Ok, I missed that. Thanks for the correction. That is doable.

Sucks to be you, but I'm okay. Nine hundred horsepower, stock? Looking like that? Plus stuff like a HUD, panoramic roof, and hatchback? 460km range... for me that means I'd need to plug it oh... twice a month. And it'll cost about $6 CDN to charge, instead of $100.

As long as you can shut the stupid artificial noise off, I'm interested. I mean... not in the market for another half decade, but interested.

I'd love to hear how that worked out in real life, even if it's half a decade from now.
But I can certainly understand why something like a heads up display could be useful...when ones vision is obstructed by sand.

It's just math. I've got a friend with a Bolt (which yes, has had its problems) who bought that car based on gas being as high as $1.20/L. He's been laughing his butt off as prices have been steadily around $1.80/L for the last half a year. Again, even if prices magically went back to what they were four years ago, he's already made out like a bandit. You don't need to wait a half-decade. He's already done it.

That said, the guy's driving a Bolt while I'm in a Hellcat, so there's a pretty big fun-factor that he doesn't get. Which is why this car is kind of intriguing. Best of both worlds.
