Winter storage of your Hellcats

Well this is the first time I’ll put the cars in short term storage. I’ve used StaBil 360 in the tanks of my pump gas cars. What do you guys use that have your cars on e85/corn?

E85 doesn't break down like gasoline, it's alcohol based so I don't think a stabalizer will do anything. It will evaporate or take on water. I put it on a tender and on every Sunday open the garage door and let it run for five minutes, then turn it off. With a return based system it is pumping the gas continually which is great for cycling it. On a dead head system like stock I would drain and put it back on 93.

You have an issue with larger injectors?

No seemed to run ok. We drove around until the e85 ran out had fuel with us. Put 93 in and a different tune and drove home about 20 miles. I had it running in the garage and ran it out of fuel so had to go get a couple more gallons to get it to my Dads where I store it. Seemed to be fine with 93 and 1650 injectors. Its all about the tuner

Air up the tires to 45ish


Wait for intermittent warm-ish (45 or so) days every two weeks or so, pull out to the driveway and start and run for 20-30min.

I’d say March.

You need a different tune for 93. But your injectors are fine to run 93 with tune

Hmm I live farther north and can’t see you being consistently cold til March. I have many videos driving my Hellcars and GT500 January, February and March. You will see high 40 degree days and 50 plus as well. I think your being overly cautious in the area you live. Now yeh for sure Michigan New York etc but no wayTn is like those Northern states.

The biggest problem up here, IMO, is the salt. They dump that stuff like crazy and even once the snow melts it takes a few heavy rains to wash it away. The Cat doesn’t need a salt bath.

They were spraying that brine crap like crazy in south carolina earlier this week. I'd say that they probably use it in Tennessee then.

Yeah they do. My cars don’t do rain or snow so….

Every yr like clockwork, I fill up the tank, air up to 45lbs and then leave it in the garage. I come by the garage every 2 weeks or so to start it up for about 30-45 mins.

Every year, almost like clockwork, around December 20th go for enough of a drive to get the oil warm. On dry roads, even if the driveway is snowy, as in the photo above.

Then up on the lift for a pre-hibernation oil change, and into the garage they go. With whatever is in the tank and tires.
Hook up the BatteryMINDers and there they sit until spring.

No starting them up since the oil is fresh. If one gets cold started, it also gets driven until everything is at operating temp, especially the oil. And that's easier said than done if the temps are about 40 or below.

Right and my point is TN will not have 3-4 months of cold cold weather and snow. And common sense that we all have is don’t drive on the snowy days and or soon after it snows. I’m just saying to park your car for 3-4 months in TN seems unusual. Let’s ask your neighbor @Speedy! If anyone here should know he would be the one.
