The Purple Super Bee at the local MSRP only dealer is now only 7500 over sticker.

They now have a blue one that is 5k over.

And a green fat body challenger hellcat for sticker at 93k

All these prices are just insane

There was 1 near me $4K under msrp, brand new, at the dealer.
I wonder if some of these bidders have no idea what they are bidding on:LOL:

Deep pockets and alcohol

Even the Woodside advertisements "cheapest payments"
Car is still 200k but you can now finance it out 120/144/180 months:oops::oops:
I'd use it if I was planning on flipping. But not much to flip right now unless you have something really unique and desirable. I don't think the D170 fits it either unless its 25k over and going right to BJ.

My instinct is telling me to buy nothing. Maybe it's just me but I'm not going to catch a falling knife.

If you're selling at the auction, mid afternoon is the best time. They have a buzz and haven't spent all their money yet.

I think the plan always was to some of these guys

This is the next Hemi Cuda or some shit like that.
It will be a million dollar car in the future if I just keep it stored and only drive it a few times.

Problem is, I'd say 2,500 buyers of the Demon had the same idea. It will never hit those lofty numbers until more of them start being used and abused and low mileage examples get harder to find.
Another key part of that narrative is that it's last and no future (non-boutique) OEM ICE cars will top it.

Are you looking to snag one? (at the "right price", of course)

Nothing is forever. This is the 2nd time in my lifetime that I've heard this.

I might not be alive for the next time but it doesn't mean that it won't happen in someone else's reality.

But they're worth big money because they're super rare. People back then bought cars to drive and consume not many packing them away for investment down the road. Everybody and their brother who gets a Demon, whether 2018 or 2023, thinks it's a museum piece. 3300 isn't rare.

Ford is keeping supercharged V8s alive for the rest of the decade.
GM rolling out a Twin Turbo LT6 with both an 800hp and 1000hp variety.
Only Dodge/Stellantis is calling it quits.

Exactly.
Was at the Corvette museum a few weeks ago. The L88 was a big block 4 speed car that anyone could order but GM didn't really advertise. Only a 180 or so examples ever produced. Those cars fetch huge money because of it. And I'm sure quite a few of them were abused before people realized not many existed.

Now you have guys with their 1 of 1's but that 1 of 1 is with red seats, bronze wheels, white seat belts, painted roof etc. Still part of of 3,300 cars LOL

I have an older buddy, one who bought a 2018 Demon as an investment and did poorly, who's been a car "investor" for probably 40 years. He had several 1970 Mopars from a couple AARs to a TA Challenger. He's someone I consider in the know and he told me the market has softened considerably for those and it's because the people who idolized those cars are all in their 70s or 80s now and passing away.

He's sold just about all of his collection now, said to get out while he could.

I see people crying that the car culture is dead. I strongly disagree. It's a new generation of car people and their cars are different than us older guys.

Hate to say the P word, but they claim to be keeping the 911 ice as long as possible. I imagine they won't be getting any slower either... Affordable a different story.. for me anyway.

Bingo

Hellcat is loved by the younger crowd.
So is the C8 Corvette.

Imports that were hot 20-25 years ago are starting to take off if you have the right one and its not destroyed.

But again, why? These people had fun in these cars. Raced them, went on dates in them, cruised with buddies in them etc. They didn't buy them and stuff them into a garage hoping in 20 years it will make them a cool million dollars.

Emotions are a big part of it. At least for cars like this.

11B in losses because they went all in on EVs.

Doubled down on stupidity

I wonder if they could have made a hybrid TDI?

Why didn't these companies go hybrid to begin with? I mean it's just common sense. Had to have been some big gubment (meaning our) money involved for them to go straight EV.
