I told Cody I have him handled by Christmas. Changing to a new cam changed that hopefully new years. Got his short block together set of ported heads with valve springs. Was up @ 5 this morning to put pistons in but I will be happy to see him on the road again. Cam is one Jon and cam motion spec out heads are a set of ported thiteks I had laying around
We are on a time frame with Cody’s.

I'm not up on how these things work these days, but does the stability control need to be retuned for the higher hp?

No, you pretty much are on your own. It definitely is still there but far less effective.

I ran mine in sport traction. Seemed to help straightened me out if it started going sideways.

Ya sport and street are mostly what I use. Generally I just leave it in street for the maximum amount of safety. With increased amounts of power, I notice it’s much easier to overwhelm the traction and stability control, although it is still there (luckily).

On the street I run in 100% sport mode unless it's raining.

You turn it off and you're on your own.
Back in the day.... Before antilock (pre-1986), when you f'd up, all you needed to do was lock them up and you go straight. This is critical in places like an entrance ramp with a guard rail on one side and a ditch on the other. Stomp on the brake and you simply skid straight to a stop regardless of how you are pointed. Then do a 3-point turn, and continue.

Seems to me the stability control has given back much of what the antilocks took away, I'd hate to be without it. I continue to be shocked how stable these cars are, even the RE, even with AS tires

Mine has always come back around for me even once on drag radials in the rain. It went 90° to the left and I brought it back and it went 90° right. In the middle of traffic on I95.
