It wouldn't surprise me if in Drag mode the limiter is disabled but who knows.

Based on the emails posted from SRT, nope, "major modifications" would be necessary for the Demon170 to race at the Texas Mile. The email also states that the Demon170 is the quickest but the Red EYE is the fastest. OCMotivator posted the emails.

Accordingly to the emails from SRT, that is not true. The car will allow it to monetarily exceed 149 but that is it. Please see the following youtube videos regarding this. Dodge has removed all reference to the car having a top speed of 215 mph. SRT has stated in the emails that the Redeye is faster, the 170 is quicker in the 1/4.

170 is definitely not designed for 1 mile runs or 215 MPH top speed
Personally until now I never thought about anything other then 1320 for this car
It has the power to do 215 even though its has the aerodynamics of a brick like all the Challengers
That is not what the 170 is about
Not sure why Dodge would even mention it doing 215 ???
I m guessing there is all kinds of legal fine print for a car like this & that 149 mph top speed
Dodge is just covering its ass
In the real near future people will be testing its limits well past 149 mph
The same conversation came out with the 2018 Demon & its 168 MPH limit
Lots of 2018 Demons have exceeded the 203 mph Redeye speed
Time will tell

Personally I don t have the balls to go 200 in a Dodge product

The demon 2018 did not have a speed limit when the race PCM (Dodge provided as part of the crate) was installed. The race pcm had to be installed to use the 840 HP race gas option. Therefore, it is not the same at all.

The speed limit means the car will never go quicker, regardless of the DA or weight. Obviously, the car can be modified, however, then it becomes just another modified car.

The tires limited the 2018 Demon to 168 ish
Change the tires & 200 plus was achievable
Now its considered not factory by many & others would say different

No sure what the argument is, the fact is that the 170 is speed limited to 149 mph, regardless of the advertising that it would do 215 (some would say false advertising). What more needs to be said?

I have not posted anything in a very LONG time, but I've been a member since forever. Ha! Ha! I just wanted to say that I've noticed some prices dropping on the Demon 170 on EBay. Now a buy it now price for 180K. Anyone wanting one should wait as I think prices will come down, especially with the 149 MPH limit reveal. Hope everyone is well!

That is why I posted the video threads that included the emails from SRT that specifically address the situation. In addition, all references regarding the 215 MPH for the Demon170 were removed from Dodge.

Well whoever believed that is a total idiot, Bugattis are way faster and always have been, many other exotics go well past 200 too. They may not fall into Dodge's select definition of "production car", but they are not one-off cars either. There is a factory for them...
