Weekend project. Waiting for a clear day in the driveway. Fuel light flashes intermittently when fuel gets near 1/4 tank and goes out. Scanned BCM and I’m getting a fuel level sensor short. Time to pull the dual pumps and change it out along with the filters. Might just be hung up on the wires for the pumps, but don’t think that would cause a short

I have to tie back the wires every year or 2 like clockwork.

This year I may as well do the double-to-triple upgrade while I'm there. I'll be deciphering the Injected Gasohol install and reversing all wire splices then going with the Tapped plug & play kit and a 3rd FPCM.

Realistically the next step is full racecar...I just don't want to have to open this tank again.

That’s what I have, their old kit where you cut up the harness. I installed it. I have their instructions if you need them, I want to do the same thing. Undo what I did and switch to a plug and play harness

To be fair, I haven’t had the tank open in about 6 years and it just started giving me issues with the light flashing (no cel) and always ready 1/2 lower than what it is - never reads full. What issues were you experiencing due to the wires catching the arm @fubar569 ?

It usually won't go all the way to F nor all the way to E. I know right about what the car SHOULD be consuming on E85 so I know when it's about to go screwed. Not going to both extremes has always been wires BOTH times. First time it was off by 1/4 tank and this time it's a little less than that. I just replace the whole card because why not...but I may not this time since it'll be getting sent to Rick anyways.

Does you fuel light blink though when it gets hung up? I just found my long installing bolts for the pump, surprised I still have them

Nope. No blinking. Actually I Don't think it's ever came on unless I was being purely stupid and stretching my luck.

I still have the zip lock bag for the dual housing with the install bolts, old style pump pigtail, old thermostat, instructions, etc. - it was all installed by OST so I'm sure the connections are stout. Probably gonna hate digging into it to reverse it but I'm not splicing a 3rd FPCM in. At the time Injected had the only decent kit out so we were stuck.

Glad I just pulled em, filters are junk. Arm isn’t getting hung up on wires, but look at the butt connections for the sensor

Not sure what I should use as new butt connectors. Anyone have any suggestions?

They both look burnt/shorted out at the bottom.

I've seen burnt connections in the fuel tank for pump power, the hot wires in fuel tank sorta amazed me the first time. Counting on never being enough oxygen in the tank to to create flammability issues seems like a bad idea, but it works

I'm pretty sure I just solder shrinked mine as there was plenty of wire left to do so and for any future repairs. We'll see what I do with the next card. I should probably pin and shrink it so I can make it removable again.

Make sure you tuck in the big stuff too. That's what mine kept getting caught on. Tuck it all good and tight. Then cluck. In a dress preferably.

No I was going to after my car bucked at 1/4 tank leaving work one day. Those mats are expensive and did not know if I could install them on my dual pump setup. I just keep it 1/2 tank all the time now.
