Sorry this late, but been super busy.We had a great couple of days at Rockingham NMCA Sipple’s Speed & Performance event. Had to pull some power out of the car to keep it at 9.0. Made a soft launch tune and pulled some timing out up top. No cage yet.The car was really dialed in on 9.0! We had a issue in qualifying round #1 ran a 10.1 had a bad plug! We got with Joshua Schwartz at HHP and he got us some new plugs, Tommy Falk and I changed them before round two. A not so easy task! Thanks Josh and Tommy.. We ran a 9.07 and hooked on the launch on a not so good track prep. Most of the faster cars unfortunately spun on launch. Qualifier #3 we ran a 9.01 she sure was on the money!! We ended up the 9.0 winner for the Hemi Direct Connection Shootout. We qualified for HHP Quick 8 shootout on Sunday. It was cooler Sunday morning so I pulled a little more power out of the car to not break out on 9.0. Didn't pull enough out and we ended up running an 8.97 and broke out! We had a blast hanging out with everyone. Want to thank David Starnes, Tim Barth, Marc Heidings, Jon Sipple and everyone who helped us and took videos for us. Was great to see all our track friends! Can't wait to do it again!

I think if my car was dialed in that good, I would find races with a bigger purse. Considering their investment, the Mopar shootout guys should boycott for more money. How would they feel if nobody showed up?

Dodge pays the entry fee for the event. Also won another $100 for making the Quick 8. Could of won more if we didn't break out. It's a great event.

It is free to race though. Running the Nittos is how you get $1000. Sunday $800 if you win

Yes, thought about the Nittos. But they don't have a 15" tire bigger than 28". Plus everyone says there not a very good drag radial?

For your power level not the best choice but I hooked them fine on a stock hellcat. I think running 10.0 it could be done 9.0 you would have to make a lot of power and back it off.
Nitto does make some really tall tires in the 17s or 18s I believe

Can't pull anymore power on launch. On 3 to 7 degrees of timing on launch ramp until shift point timing. But it's working 1.31 to 1.36 60ft. Could work with the 17" bigger Nitto's? Be nice to take on $1000.

9.0’s are super impressive but $100 or $200 just doesn’t seem like a good enough purse for a 9 second car. @vortecd got 2 of these checks the first two times he went out with the specific purpose of running his old Nitto’s that he had run the previous year on his Scatpack. He drove it 250 miles to Indy for one of the races. That was really impressive to me!

My point need an 8.50 car that you can slow down on launch to go 9.0.

If you can come away with some then it is a bonus. Fact of the matter you get to race for free so I don't see why anyone close to one of these events doesn't do it. I had my dad run the challenger with my nittos I daily drive with and he won a $1000 winning the 14 second class. Been looking all winter for a used set of Nittos for the car this year. I have a 4 year old set I may have to mount. The ones from last year got a nail in them the week after the event close to the side wall and my tire guy said he didn't recommend fixing it

Make the quick 8 and it is a $100 if you lose 1st round and more if you win. They turned it into a bracket race last year so now the fastest car will not always win

Getting money for racing is never a bad thing, but $100 doesn't even cover my fuel.
