26 mpg....wow! I haven't been able to get anywhere close to that on highway road trips.
Thanks, what I didn't mention was that 287 South from I70 in Colorado has a few towns that drop your speed from 65 to 25 in some cases. and this is a truckers favorite route (or it would seem with the amount of truckers I see)

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

*p.s. I'm surprised no one said anything about my lousy parking job. And to think, I used to drive a Fire Engine.

Since my pursuit of an El Camino has ended, I might end up with a cheap Durango instead.

It's the right color (Granite) and has the pursuit option.

I was recently at a car show and was astonished to see a gorgeous white, numbers matching, '69 454 El Camino.

Wish I took a pic of it, maybe I'll see it again.

18.0 mpg in a 392 hemi (combined driving). Not bad!

Hmm, I thought a '69 should be a 396.

Be that as it may, I've given up on a pursuit Durango (way too many idle hours for a 5.7) and on finding a nice GT AWD in Granite.

Stumbled upon a GT AWD Plus for a good price. Should have photos of it tomorrow, and if it looks good I'll go get it week after next. Another 1,000+ mile trailer trip.

I’ve never seen mine go into cylinder deactivation mode - how do I add that to the dash? I average 22/23 on highway

It's on the fuel economy screen in the center dash. There is a blue script that says "4 cylinder mode" when it's on. I can feel it - feels like a slight fishbite miss when it's active

forgot to mention it's only "available" in Eco mode, and even with that, have to be in fairly light torque request for it to actually activate

Nice. What do you get with City/Highway mixed cruising?

Nice! Best I have been able to coax is high 19's, tickle 20 here and there, but I just can't drive these things slow [driving]
I drive it somewhat conservatively, with the occasional mandatory blasts.

But I don't think I'll ever get 20 with my City/Highway mixed driving.

Hmm, I thought a '69 should be a 396.
Ok, I remember the owner telling me his engine was an LS5 454.

So I did some checking, and it seems that engine narrows it down to a 71-72 model.

Hopefully, I'll see that car again at a show to confirm that. The guy had a full binder of pics of the full frame off restoration he did.

Yup, that's when I leave it in "Auto" and the vehicle is under minimal load.

In "Sport" or "Track", 4 Cyl Deactivation does not come on.

I really don’t look at it much, not much “city” for me, I do more suburban and it gets 17-20 ish. They don’t let me do much driving around other people on public streets because I don’t play well with others in that regard.

The dealer doesn't even have a photo of the Durango I just bought, so I can only include the press photo they used in their ad. It's a '19 GT AWD Plus with 90,000 on it.

Supposedly it looks like this. Or at least used to.
