Anyone know of anyone that's bought a Hornet? Or have you seen one in the wild?

Decided to look on autotrader around me.
They have some very steep discounts on them.

33k MSRP GT is listed at 22k
45k MSRP R/T is at 26k!!! Almost 20k/50% off!!!!

To be honest, I've paid so little attention to them, I'm not entirely certain what they even look like.

Even my wife makes fun of them and teases them as though they have the "Fart-sonic" fake exhaust like the new Charger EV.

We are just foolish, arrogant, stupid Americans who refuse to follow the “science” and the guidance of the elitists who are working very hard to save us from ourselves. Next thing will probably be something like making us pay to save them from the Russians!

Just curious. The dealers around here in VA have tons of them on the lots. I've yet to even see one in traffic, and I actually look for them.
A friend if mine, has a "Hornet" wagon, 1976 with about 200K and runs great. American Motors, built some great cars.

A couple of months ago I came across a dealer that was selling V6 Challengers for $21K, and an extra $1,500 for the AWD version.

I didn't buy one of those, so why on earth would I be interested in a homely Hornet??

This is actually the same as last Hornet I saw in the wild. It was at the track. It wasn’t a Mopar but the S/C 360 ran pretty good! I don’t think he was running on the factory D60x14 belted tires at the time

I look at cars a lot when I'm out on the road, and I can't say I remember seeing one.

You are not the targeted demographic.

Lets assume Dodge/Stellantis is actually correct and that the pricing in this segment is 35-45k sticker price.
Slashing prices to low to mid 20s should catch buyers attention if other competitors are 35k+

US buyers are big on what things cost. Seeing a 40% off sticker on a vehicle in the category they are interested in could be a chief motivator to buy that over something else.
Could also steal from those looking to buy Chevy's Trax and step up to a more premium offering for the same $$$.

This is throwing reliability etc out the window. Purely on the cost, these are priced right. Now how much is Stellantis or dealers going to lose over it? Who knows and who cares?

Well, I kinda was. Bought a heavily optioned (all but a sunroof) used Durango after the Hornets came out.

Yes, it has over 90,000 miles on it, but cost less than a new (discounted) Hornet and will likely last longer.
Plus, not being seen in a Hornet is priceless.

Ive seen 3 but technically it was only two because Im 99.44% sure I saw the same one twice. I MIGHT consider leasing one if it was like $0 out of pocket and $200 a month but other than that its a big NOPE.

Two problems.

They haven't produced enough of them to cover a day's worth of border crossers. Secondly, he has no idea how to exit a stage, except the wrong way.

I didn't say ALL crossers....which begs the question...how many illegal Mexicans can you fit in a Hornet...(gotta be a commercial in there somewhere):p:p:p

More than they want to....or ever thought they would...way to go Stellantis(y);)
