This is coming from guys that don’t have a Tim Hortons on their route.
It’s a phenomenon in WNY, and we are OK with it.

It boils down to convenience and taste, I think most coffee houses sell shit coffee (including the retailers including Kcups), thus, we make our own. I understand that is not the issue, however, why support some woke crap? So many alternatives, bad business will sort itself out.
Tim Horton ltd. is the exception....you cant replicate their coffee@ home..the lengths they go through to insure the consistency of their coffee in their almost 200 locations in WNY is amazing...from water purification..acidity neutralization,,brewing time..(down to split second)...water temp... trust me..you cant buy a finer cup of coffee...I can get free coffee from a multitude of places here in WNY...I PAY for it @ Hortons...for a reason

We have an international chain of coffee shops here in WNY..(Canada/Us)....the overwhelming majority of their business is done through their drive up windows...they do an amazing job of keeping the line moving,,it;s not unusual to see 10 cars or more in line...I frequent this particular location daily..(sometimes twice a day)....I get the same thing every morning.(over 10 years running).medium coffee /light cream... they are efficient and cordial...until today...I placed my usual order...when I got to the window I asked for an extra empty cup...(I use it as an ash tray for my cigars)...the girl politely gave me my coffee..and the extra cup...(so far so good)...to which I replied thank you my dear...well...as you can imagine she exploded..I'M NOT YOUR DEAR..AND DONT EVER ADDRESS ME LIKE THAT AGAIN.....generally I ignore these things and drive away....I pulled in went to the counter and asked for the manager...the mgr. is a woman who has served me for years...I asked if she recognized me..she said only from coming in here for years...I recounted what happened...and told her...the waitress was right...she's not my dear..and now I am NO LONGER your customer...I used the phrase as a term of endearment for her accommodating me...In no way was it used in a derogatory or demeaning sense....I realize my 2.70/5.40 purchase a day means nothing...to me it the principle ..I'm not gonna be tongue lashed by some minimum wage teenage misfit who thinks the customer...(any customer) has an obligation to insure she's not offended...I never waited for a response from the manager...I turned and walked out...
Welcome to gen Z they have a brain of a piss ant and want everyone to use their way of communication when talking to them. They have zero customer relation skills and drive away more than they serve.

I had one chastise me repeatedly for not using the self-check out and asked many times why I had such an attitude. at the Dollar General store. She was pissed because I would not do what she wanted me to do. I have not been back! I told her I did not and would not use them. She lied and said the regular check out was not working, when I kept standing at the cash register, she finally checked me out. As I walked out, I said " Good work fixing the cash register"

I must have missed that part?
Actually I never really gave the manager a chance to respond...or offer any explanation...I have no idea if she even mentioned the incident to the employee in question...it was not my intent to get her terminated or be the reason for any disciplinary action really..or if I felt an apology was in order ..I felt the manger should be aware of how ANY of the store employees conduct themselves when serving the public...and as a result will no longer patronize the establishment

It's not in the job training. it's the education they received and social media BS. WOKE anti gender recognition. and if you are an older white male, they put a bullseye on you for being rude with your speech, in their opinion. Here in the South, we have always used words when talking with ladies that were meant to be complementary but are now taken as insulting and degrading by WOKE. such as Mam, Sug, Darling, Sweety, I guess they would rather be called Bitch, Whore, Heifer. But they will pick at you to try and get you to lose your temper and say more than you should. It is like some game they play. Makes them feel important to be able to put you in your place! then they can go on social media and claim their victory.

She really would have hated my response then because I use "Thank you, Darling" all the time
I'm not changing that, and I hope it pisses people off. Quite being so sensitive

In my opinion she did you a favor. Let's do the math shall we? $2.70 x 365 days = $985.50 per year assuming you only go once a day. You've frequented this establishment for 10 years. At a minimum, you've spent $9855.00 since 2014. It's not a question of being able to afford it. Everyone on this site can. Yes, it's nice to have coffee made to order but now you will be saving a thousand dollars a year - OR- $10k+ over the next 10 years and when you really think about, coffee is such a small thing in our lives. You won't miss it. She did you a favor.

There are too many narcissistic people, who planted many weed seeds years ago! Now we a huge group of entiled young people who can't think about anything but THEMSELVES. Of course their parents don't get it and some encourage it!

Too much is wrong with our Country, due to lack of understanding of what respect means, or mere politeness and how good manners is part of the job. They don't understand a long time customer helps makes their paycheck.

All this BS that Cancel culture has started is so overgrown!

I like to go to Dunkin Donuts now and then, for a coffee and bagel. The people in there are from Pakistan and one guy from NYC. I pull up and they always have a smile on their face! There are some who reconize me and ask me about whichever vehicle I'm driving. They always finish with "have a nice day"
The line is always long there. Service with a smile, politenes and the purchase is always checked before it is given out. Then a polite exchange goes back and forth.

@1971demon, can you imagine we are on a Hellcat forum and you are being told how to spend your money? It's coffee....not Weed, Not Alcohol, Not a bunch of car parts......just a cup of coffee and you expect the same courtesy, that you give to your customers.

It’s crazy that the $3.00 a day became the focus for some, lol. Just think of all of the other things in your life that bring you pleasure that you could cut out of your budget! Then you can die miserable and rich! And that’s what matters most.

The best fun money can buy goes up in smoke from the pipes and from the wheelwells. Can’t argue that.

It's funny...growing up my family was heavily involved in the retail food industry..(1966/2005)...national franchises as well as independent...my sisters and I worked just about every facet from the age of 13...we were all trained in customer service and dealing with the public...from the proper way to greet/acknowledge customers..attire...and even MAKE CHANGE...and to thank them...my father was anal about the details...no chewing gum..no chatter with other employees while serving...and everybody wore uniforms...my summer job in HS was the custard stand in the Donut shop @ the corner of our street...(7 days a week all summer from 12 noon to 9pm...I was 13)...one day my father overheard me greet a customer with "whatta ya have"...he freaked out...it was HOW MAY I HELP YOU... I learned valuable lessons that stayed with me to today...maybe that's why I am so critical of what I see with todays youth in the work place
