Well, my 426 build was stolen.

Found out today my aluminum 426 (Hellephant) race block and Thitek heads are gone. My local speed-shop was burglarized last night and they were basically cleaned out. Beside my build, other blocks and heads were taken along with a various super chargers. Haven't heard a full inventory of everything taken but I'm sure many other performance parts left the building too. Sounds like they had plenty of time to pick and choose. No alarm system, just video. Lots of MOPARs waiting on site for misc. build projects, all now aborted for the foreseeable future. Thank goodness no cars were stolen.

Yep, who knows how long it will take the insurance co. to pony up though. I'm bummed FCA is not releasing those blocks to us regular mokes any more.

In this day and age...how do you not have security...there are plenty of options today that extremely affordable..(and effective)

I think if this was to happen to me, I would get a copy of the police report on this theft and then show Mopar/SRT as to what happened to the block that I was able to purchase before their restriction and see if they would make a exception for you to get another one from them. Never know if it would work if you don't try. It appears they stole all of it to make some money so it is possible that they will get caught with it and be recovered, hopefully damage free. The Mopar guys are very connected out there so it is very possible for them to be caught trying to sell this stuff, especially with that P5160138 block.

Sorry to hear this! I would provide every Mopar resource out there serial numbers to make sure anybody looking to buy one of these knows to double check. The way that block is marked, I can’t image it being used without coming to light at some point. Good luck going forward!

Smart of you to post this. That block is not a common piece. Even if #'s are eradicated you can see it's been done.

The shops initial guess at losses (before a complete inventory) is already at around $100K

Definitely keep an eye to EBAY and yeah probably not but you never know. And they would probably sit on it for a month or so before they would do this.

Another trick you can do is sit low for a week and then post an ad in numerous web sites saying you are looking for a 426 and lay low on your info. And just maybe the dumb ass will respond to your inquiry and once again you have to be like a detective on how you move forward.
