Not a fan of the fake sound, that's trying too hard.

I am a fan if the transmission is an actual gear shifting trans and not some "interrupt" to the power to make it feel like it's shifting, again being fake. With the silly "eRupt" branding I'm betting it's the latter.

Looks, I'm not sure on. I need to see it in person. It is better looking than any other electric car on the road today though. The wheels need some work, they're too "Running Man" for me. Need to be deeper dish and not have the trim ring.

I'm not opposed to EVs at all, but I am opposed to not having a choice. I'm sure this will all become yet another political issue to further divide the country unfortunately. As we all know the infrastructure problems aren't solved and I'm hearing zero discussion on that from anyone thus far.

I guess in terms of public acceptance it depends on where you look. On dodgegarage the comments are 50/50 for/against. On the YT channels I follow that covered it it's about 85% negative comments.

I guess when it comes time for people to get their wallets out that will tell the tale. I'm sure if the current admin is still in office they'll pay people to buy them though using our tax dollars.

I was playing around in MS paint and broke the car into 3 pieces. If you factor out the front fascia, the rest of the car has the EV tear drop shape. I think the view from the driver's seat or standing by the A pillar is going to be odd starring at hood which dramatically dips downward at the front of the tear drop. My feeling's the overall design does not work together. Goes from straight lines to bubble to somewhat straight in the rear. Every angle, except looking at it straight from the front doesn't flow at all. I felt it was also an odd choice to use a low impact color for the reveal.

Yeah the reveal color was really strange. Also the look on Tim's face as he walked off stage was equally odd. Made me wonder if he heard someone say "that sucks" or something or maybe he's just generally unhappy having to represent it. Couldn't tell.

My thoughts exactly. It's wonky and just awkward. Ironically it's an EV that doesnt flow - visually anyway.

Wonder if they specifically chose that color to soften some of the styling choices?

You reveal that thing in any sort of high-impact color, and all of these lines / design choices that you all are pointing out would really make them stand out...

Looking at your breakdown, I think you nailed it.

Like it or not, pretty much every EV is going to have the same basic shape in order to minimize drag (and therefore maximize efficiency).

It almost looks like the designers were given marching orders of 'design an efficient EV, but be sure to incorporate some design elements of classic Chargers'.

So they ended up with the teardrop base, then sort of molded the front and rear to incorporate the styling cues..

Well while we're at it, the logo isn't aggressive enough and also the name Banshee is a bit weak imo.

The name is a complete miss. People for sure aren't thinking about the electricity. I brought an old piece of equipment home from work years ago. It was a big hard drive array, had big fans, etc in it and I thought I'd use it for practically unlimited storage. My electric bill went up a legit $20/mo. Now how much the electric bill goes up vs putting gasoline in your tank ever week will be interesting to watch, but I'm sure the current admin will continue to try to make gasoline expensive to show "see it was worth going EV". The problem is it raises the price of everything else. Not gonna have electric cross country semi trucks to haul goods any time soon.

As for the sound, I'm still not sure why they don't do something with the actual electric motors. That I could get on board with.

Something like this.....close your eyes and listen.

Exactly. The last thing I want is another giant bill every month. I thoroughly enjoy paying for fuel as I go even if I'm mind effing myself.

I kind of like it until it starts to sound like a dentist's drill.

It's fake. How about finding out where they cut the Challenger body?

I think the sound produced is more similar to playing an instrument or blowing a horn rather than the fake, amplified stereo sound that the news articles have suggested. In this case, perhaps they can retune the instrument sound to more of a baritone/tuba rather than a trumpet.

"When the Daytona converts electricity to power, air flows through the exhaust system and the sound produced goes through an amplifier and tuning chamber at the rear of the vehicle. You can see and feel the pressure from the exhaust coming out the back."

A rose by any other name is still a rose.

I don’t understand how converting electricity to power creates air current without an unnecessary fan being involved. Armature turbulence?
