4.5L Whipple 'Murder Cat'

Scheduled to ship down to OST June, 7th. After they are done repairing the kitty and possibly doing a 15" conversion at the same time will be going right to the paint shop for trim replacement/touch up/blending. Replacing the current red badges with updated OEM 2020-21 versions. Applying PPF to the front clip too. - Think it will be a much cleaner factory style look.

Also decided to sell the 17" Forgestar D5 drag pack, will be replacing with 15's+275 radial pro once sold. Slowly getting there.. Nothing worth having comes easy...it will be worth it.

That will be a great set-up, I hope this part of your journey goes much better for you

I already have 17" beadlock rears but I could be interested in matching fronts if someone else wants the rears.

I'm also local'ish...NW PA about 2.5hrs away on a bad day.

I got to meet the owner today and see the car while I picked up my new front skinnies.

The Whipple 4.5 always looks way larger in the engine bay than any picture on the internet could ever indicate.

I am definitely a fan of the black and red color combination now. I don't want anything to do with the maintenance though. Haha

Turns out that he's heard of our local car club and the show they put on every year. Maybe my schedule will allow our paths to cross this year.

I'm only a couple of hours away and OST dyno a couple of hours from me... plus I drive directly by that shop at least every 14 days.

This car is going to be very impressive when finished. Takes very good care of everything... and hopefully OST takes care of him this time around.

Transaction was definitely 10/10 would do again definitely.

Just dropped her off for paint and trim repairs. Felt weird driving the cat after sitting so long! Cured some of the build depression hearing the new exhaust setup with the big ol' whipple purr away. Managed to draw a small crowd at the body shop, was a nice surprise. Always love sharing the builds with kids/enthusiasts.

Got a look at the chiller system leak finally. It's pretty sad this work is on my Hellcat currently. Looks like a 1st grader welded the tank. Hacked together, even the body shop said it was shite. Top dollar for this...

If OST pulls off a miracle to save this car and get it show room quality somehow i will be EXTREMELY GRATEFUL. Tired of being burned left and right..so is my savings. Build a car they said it will be fun

100% having it all re-done. No way that level of work is staying on the car. Painful to just look at that crap. How someone could do this to a beautiful Hellcat I have no idea. Also no idea how the tuner is still advertising for this place on Instagram. Real shame.

Going to see what can be done to try to recover some money back from this hack job. With dyno services payed for never received, damage to paint/chassis, and now this pretty sure I have a decent case for faulty repair/negligent mechanic work. The BBB rating for them is now 'F' since someone had a similar situation right after mine. Same thing no response/resolution made them pay in cash. Unbelievable situation.

If you do get back into the GTR game, Cicio Performance (TSM - Top Speed Motorsports) shits all over AMS. Attention to detail and build quality is insane

Not a single issue these days with 175+ traps.

They build a bad ass kit for the 911 as well.

I do miss the hellcat and going to replace it whenever the crazy shortage / covid pricing ends.

Picked the Hellcat up tonight. Everything looks great! New trim all around makes the car look brand new again. Paint correction came out absolutely mint too.

The front bumper and hood does need to get re-done along with a few other small details. Sanded through the paint unfortunately while removing imperfections. No big deal, throwing in a ceramic coat which was nice.

Sending her in an enclosed trailer at the end of next week to OST.

The car was awesome in person even before wrapping up these things.

Haven't mounted the skinnies yet. Car is actually still at Allpar. Everyone is just a little backlogged right now...but the initial runs were sent to curt for revision.

Probably didn't need an enclosed trailer since the front bumper/hood needs to be re-done again but got a good deal from a local car guy. Why not for added peace of mind. Going to be a show quality car when finished anyway.

Got a decent game plan together after OST looked through the car today. Few weeks she'll be golden.

Was a little caught off guard when they said the bumper was only being held on by two bolts, two others missing with tabs ripped - Not sure if it was the body shop as they mentioned nothing. Will need a new bumper now so it's not held together hack style. Have to pickup spare parts this weekend so will see what the body shop says.

I was one of the 1st guys to install a 4.5 Whipple. On the old forum I had a build thread till I got banned from there. I have played with it for the last 3 years. To be honest I'm going back to a stock ported 2.4 S/C. Should be done this week. The only way the 4.5 Whipple is really worth installing is if you go to a bigger cid.

Picked the Hellcat up today from OST. Work in the engine bay looks much more professional and Micah has been excellent to deal with.

Unfortunately there is not much good news, car will need to go back. Beyond disappointing with all the money spent on install/repairs/shipping.

1. Chiller system not working right. Barely cooling IAT and coolant temps in regular mode with cabin A/C on. Race mode (blowing hot air out A/C) heats everything up...does not chill anything. 82 degree day IAT 118-140 cruising - I/C lowest temp was 125*
2. Coolant low message still popping up on dash.
3. CEL light (Have not scanned with HP Tuner yet may be related to coolant)

Very tired of this project and don't have any motivation to spend more on it.... I'll see what they say Monday. Really sucks.

This sucks to hear. Was hoping you would beat up on some local cars.

Look at the bright side, atleast the used market has never been this high for a Hellcat. Dark side is I guess anything else you’d want as a project is as well.

Take a look at an R8 and get a simple TT setup with @ 1200-1300 wheel. They are super reliable and don’t even need to open the trans - in the 8’s and low 4’s 60-130.

I’d tell you to send Cicio a GTR and go with even his C800 stock engine/trans setup or Prime setup, but that market is bonkers right now.

I haven’t had a single issue since I dumped AMS and their engines, well other than the diff at the end of last season but that happens at 1500.

Can always just get a Tesla and run mid 9’s with a warranty on all seasons lol. Get a system to satisfy the blower whine .
