Some of the stories are quite Comical. The Demon 170 engine driving around normally with 1/2 a main bearing missing is priceless. Just who is the target audience?

I don't think there is even 5. Plus I know of one that never came apart and was driven home and they are saying that one blew up when it clearly did not.
You are probably close on your numbers. I think ButterGrapes says a lot of engines instead of stating an actual number because either, a) stating 4 engine have blown won't get much attention, or b) he has no clue how many engines have blown and he just wants views on his videos. I'm going with b.

Anybody that thinks this is a big deal, I ask that Person to build 3300 Engines at this power level and see how they do. Plus, Stellantis is at the supplier's mercy. What if a bad batch of Rods was installed? All they can do is fix the cars and hope they do ok after. Maybe get some reimbursement from the supplier to compensate. But I think they will fix the cars, and so far they have.

Owner went with an aftermarket replacement engine. Said oem was "junk". Oddness has surrounded this car though.

Tune an engine that’s already at the edge of its capabilities from the factory. I bet this was a tuner issue. Also why he went aftermarket - no warranty.

I did not watch the videos and I did not ask Larry. But it seems to me he did not want to wait for a replacement engine, likely because the ETA was too far out or unknown. So I did hear that Dodge was going to cover the repair. And he owns a repair shop. So, he is likely one that was given money to compensate and a eventually a new engine to install on his own and now he has no engine warranty. He took the cash and built another motor. Guessing on a lot of this.

I am not certain, but I think he built a little larger engine with the 170 blower etc and likely it is tuned now to adjust for the displacement and fine tuning. So, that quarter mile time is right on the money.......

That is what he told me he ran. I never had a chance to talk to him about it. Most of the hemi guys are in an area and we park at the other. The dodge guy that was there asked Darrel why we were there and he basically told him you are out in the sticks where they park our class. The NMCA really has treated us like the ugly step child and I don't why. Dodge pays them for us to race. If they didn't there would not have been 55 cars racing which was one of the biggest if not the biggest turn out. There is room by us and he was going to try to get them to park the class there next year. When the race came in 2020 that is where we were parked which was great. The next year we were moved to the very end of the track

With all the problems Whipple has, not sure that was the right move. 426 with factory blower may have been a better setup. I think he has his own shop so probably doesn't matter for him though. Not sure why he's being so secretive about the setup.

DBR Performance, the shop that tunes his car, is about 45 minutes from me interestingly. No one I know uses them for modern Mopars though.

DBR performance is where I get my ignite from they had quite a few hellcats in when I was there. Don’t know anything about them other than that.

Any details on what happened to the original engine?
Blew up in bowling green top of the track. Thinking ethanol r which is 96% ran it out a fuel or too much timing what we gathered

Could have saved a bunch of money and put a engine in a hellcat instead of a 170
