Just to double down on the aggravation with both these instances is that they are code errors a 12 year old could correct + the fact they managed to slip thru the QC for the code releases (no comprehensive testing ??) makes me very leery any time they touch it.
Well at least with this post I was able to undo the tazer bs with the radio and get my xm radio back. Now maybe it will update like its suppose to. Its stuck on 22.61 and the update is 39+
When you get the update message, you can make it go away by pressing the 'apps' button (or any other button on the bottom of the screen).
When you do that the rat-shit fuckers kill YOUR Nav & Media access as punishment for non-compliance with the mothership even tho you PAID for those features
However, if you open & close the drivers door those functions are released and you can go on with your drive unimpeded by the lizard overlords @ Uconnect !!
I'm still pissed about this, it's a simple canbus fix and they refuse, FUCKING REFUSE. Well jokes on them, I've got a Uconnect sitting on my bench and it has a harness and I have pulled the firmware. Their encryption key is about to get leaked and IDGAF, updates for everyone!

You can pull the firmware directly from their update site and use some software (with the microcontroller profile) to deconstruct the canbus configuration, modify the firmware and load it back via usb (***for research purposes only***) Happy coding 😎

been there done that, its not the operating system but a delta update, its their higher level software written in LUA and their flash UI files. I pulled the filesystem.

Also you cant do this anymore, they sign the contents of the update with a public key, the data is then verified by the private key on the device. Leak the key then you can sign whatever you want to load.

I know the private key for PCM updates are variable/calculated, been down that rabbit hole a few times. Lot of Eclipse Java decompiling and sifting through the flash and other diagnostics routines
