well, just in case the opportunity does present itself, other locations you'll find a VIN or partial VIN [was going to post this earlier, but since it was already gone, didn't bother]:
-- engine compartment, passenger side, full VIN between *'s is stamped into the sheetmetal a few inches forward of the hood strut, painted over so easy to miss
-- engine block, drivers side, * followed by partial VIN
