Be careful. It might be like getting a tattoo. Once you start sometimes you end up covered. You never removed weight. Once you start, you might be like, yea this works and its easy. Next thing you know you got a carbon fiber body on tube chassis.

Not sure what the carseats weigh. I'm sure it's a 50lb loss with them out, but then I can't wear my badge of honor. I somewhat want to run with a trunk full of groceries too
Weight is just hard on parts. Passenger seat is a tick over 60lbs if memory serves. Rear seats top and bottom like 40ish. Takes me about 10 minutes to remove all that stuff for the track.

Haha, for me at times it also becomes a necessity. I can't fit a jack, jack stands, air tank, fuel can, 4 race tires/wheels, cooler, etc in the car with the passenger seat in place

Yeah, guess it does matter how far the track is , mine is around 60 miles, 120 round trip. I live way out west Houston & the track is on the complete other side of the city & way out , have to fight traffic through the city on Friday evenings.
