Dam man that sucks. If no scratches in the paint get some goo gone and that rubber will come right off.
Same thing happend to a friend of mine. Then put a nice coat of wax on the car.
This was a while ago, all fixed up now.
The damage was fairly extensive, most of it unseen.
Notice that the tire is still holding air.
After getting the tire dismounted, and shipped off for inspection, it was determined that a small cut in the tread had allowed a bubble to form with the layers. This bubble heated/expanded, splitting the outer layers off the the rest of the tire. Those outer layers gave up, and this is the result of that.
The quarter panel was easily cleaned, with only minor scratches and chips to repair. Same for the door, and rocker panel.
However it took out the rear door lower weather strip, splash guard, ALL of the wiring behind it, sidemarker lamp, blind spot radar, the main wiring harness, the bumper, and all mounts/clips pertaining to that side.
