I m not sure how but Vanguard has been flipping both 2018 & 2023 in the 175 to 195 range

Everything I see on their Web is big bucks

No offense to any original Demon owners but its simply a Redeye and pretty slow in stock form im surprised anyone would pay $85k for one.

I passed on buying a Demon, which wasn't that much more than the pedestrian '18 Challenger I bought, for two reasons.

Yes, they are slow. If I remember correctly the top speed is 140 mph or something. Maybe more importantly, I really didn't care for the dually fenders.

Of course, it also wouldn't have made much sense for me to buy a car that's made to be quick in a straight line when my driving consists mainly of going fast on twisty roads.

FYI- the top speed was limited to the drag radials which was 165 or 166 mph (NItto's were used). By installing the PCM that came in the crate eliminated the speed limiter, and there are Youtube videos of a stock Demon hitting 211 MPH (as I recall) which is faster than a RE.

The RE and 18 Demon are not even close in comparison, the suspension and electronics (torque reserve, trans brake, etc.) were never offered on a RE. In addition, the HP 807 versus 840 HP (with race fuel and crate components installed). Comparing the MSRP of a 2019 or 2020 RE versus the 2018 Demon, the Demon was "cheap" if purchased at MSRP with prices starting around 84K with no options.

Yeah, with mine being a well optioned 707 hp the price difference was really not that big. But I don't remember my girlfriend's '19 Red Eye being all that much more with the same options.

My original evil plan was that by spec'ing hers the same as mine, when she got tired of it in six months to a year I'd buy it for cheap. Well, she did offer it to me after a couple of years, but by then I liked mine way too much. And now, some five and a half years later, she has no intentions of getting rid of hers.

Not planning any power mods on my 170, they're pretty well maxed out from the factory. Just some mild weight reduction for the track. 9.0 is the target class.
