Mysterious Windshield Crack

Thanks for the info everyone. My eyes aren't what they used to be, but even in the closeup picture when I zoom in I don't see any impact. It looks like a clean break to me. Right now I am going through a disaster with a warranty issue on my 23 Ram 1500. There is an electrical problem and they have been working on it for over two weeks. The Ram engineers told them the next step is to replace the 48 V battery for the etorque system. A replacement won't be available until next month. They are very apologetic about it. Having to daily drive my Hellcat is the only bright spot in the Ram 2023 adventure. I am starting to doubt if they can fix this POS. I will get another truck. It is up in the air what it will be.

They 100% covered the windshield in my D170. Dealer had the installer come and get it and do it at my home. Broke in the sme place in the same manner. I personally know 2 other D170's that broke in the same manner in the same place. It's a known problem. For some odd reason one was denied. But they covered mine.

I am still in a holding pattern in both cases. I took the HC in Friday and they took pictures, etc. They also got the truck battery "early' last week, and had to install it and teat for an intermittent fault. They told me they were waiting to hear about the windshield claim and truck results last Thursday. I hope to get some updates next week.

Well, I got the good news today. They will cover it. I hope I fare better with the new manually installed one. Maybe the windshield robot arm got out of whack or something, or a bad batch of windshields. Anyone had multiple passenger side cracks on the same car like this?

Victories, in situations like this, are few and far between in my experience. I will try to savor this one.

I have not heard of any issues with the replacement glass.

It's very simple, the other guy is going to do what is easiest and cheapest for him. If you are a PITA and won't go away to the point where you are ready to take them to small claims court, when they realize that they get you fixed and out the door ASAP!
