Yea, that is what I thought. It looks just a bit different. Maybe even more difficult to get your hand inside to clean the barrels.

If matched up with the right colors/options - Brass Monkeys can look hot!

Yep, get a custom tee-top put on, get that cloth interior and add a chicken on the hood. I did have a '78 TA, I confess. Custom ordered without the hood chicken however. Then we took the worthless Pontiac 400 of that year and bolted on a set of heads from a former tri-power ($30 I took them off in the junk yard!), added headers, medium rise and a nice 750 dbl pumper. Damn, what a sleeper! It dusted the competition of that era.
Add... mine was gold.

Those were cool cars back then, and I think they still are today....but that's probably because I'm prone to fits of nostalgia :)

It was not a good time to buy performance cars. We are so lucky today with the choices we have.

Absolutely, on both counts. It was hard to accept that the cars of that era were "performance" vehicles when you were a kid getting bounced around in the back seat of your parents Road Runner while your dad was banging gears from light to light. My first cars were all muscle cars from the 60's and early 70's, so the ones from the late 70's early 80's were a let down in comparison. But.....I think those cars like the late 70's T/A and Camaro and early 80's Mustang 5.0 were actually the cars that have bridged the two eras of performance. I don't know we would have what we do today if those 80's Camaro's and 5.0 Mustangs hadn't been so popular and sold so well because Chrysler sat out that whole sales wave and made me buy a bunch of 5.0 Fords.
