It's the only taxi to have. :) There's a white wide body in town that I think is a red eye. Looks great. We were side by side yesterday on the street but he was not interested or communicative. Think he lives down the way from me, keeps it garaged and barely drives it, but it looks great.

Agreed...both are formidable hot rods...Challenger maintains the 70's visceral appeal (4 round headlights the only American hot rod to do so...It's unmistakable and sportier....the Charger is a charger in name only...(bears no resemblance to Chargers of the past)...for what that's worth....and is nowhere near as recognizable to the motoring public....make no mistake...both great cars
Funny, everyone I ask says the charger widebody looks the best.

If you must have a Charger, yes, I agree. They do look better with the dually fenders.

Make no mistake the Charger WB is an awesome mean lookin car..(sorry I couldn't pull the trigger on a RE/WB @ Koons when they were discounting them..AND Power Dollars were in effect...)...by todays prices...that was a deal of a lifetime...but to me...I still think the Challenger is sportier

Sedans have such a rich history, so I can see why Magnified likes them. "

"The word "sedan" was first used in 1636, according to Merriam-Webster. It originated from the Latin word sedere, which means "to sit". The word was originally used to describe a sedan chair, which was a type of litter that was used to transport a seated person. The chair was carried on poles by porters at the front and rear.

The term "sedan" was used again in the 19th century to describe some types of horse-drawn carriages. The first time the word was used in the context of an automobile was in 1899, when the Renault Voiturette Type B was introduced. This vehicle was an enclosed cabin with a chair and four wheels.

A sedan is a four-door passenger car with a trunk that is separate from the passenger area. It has a three-box body, with the engine in one box, the passenger area in another, and the trunk in the third."

Having something to sit in is obviously quite different from a fun to drive car, like the Challenger.

LOL, damn, I didn't have a chance to read this right now, but I sure got a huge laugh out of it, Jimmy. The first sentence about the word sedan was enough! Boy it was good to laugh. Thanks

So, what is the official difference between a sedan and a hardtop? Once upon a time, many 4dr cars were made without a B pillar, and I believe they were called sedans, while 4dr's with a B pillar were hardtops.

Am I misunderstanding or have the definitions changed?

Yes, a 4-door is still a sedan whether it has a B-pillar or not. Without one it's a hardtop.

Of course, then there are sedan deliveries, which I think were all 2-doors.

Hardtops had no B pillar. A 4 dr sedan and a 4 dr hardtop were not the same.
