No, they serve as a deterrent. (y)

Now that the cowardly street perps know the Sheriffs have Stangs the unruly crowds will never manifest in the first place!

Mmmmm, not seeing how Mustangs (or any other car) is a deterrent to anything. Looks more like they wanted some cool new toys at taxpayer expense.

If they wanted a deterrent they would prosecute people.

As do the LEO's that arrest them.

Having owned/raced a dozen Stangs, I'm well aware of the internet myth of crashing Stangs.

If you have a high hp/ RWD car, chances are you're prone to crashing
I know its not just mustangs but that's the stereotype and it fit the story:ROFLMAO:

Well, the article points out the Stang's well known profile lends itself to bringing the public closer to them. Seems to make sense and as a result is a good use of taxpayer money.

Stereotypes suck, as one day one might be applied to you and you may not find it all that funny.

Chill Francis! I'm a 300lb red head I've been stereotyped since birth! Doesn't bother me one bit. Not much does. You don't find the mustang thing funny? You need a better sense of humor:ROFLMAO:

The reality is, all high hp/RWD vehicles lend themselves to problems of that sort. It's physics.
It's because most didn't want a camaro and bought mustangs starting in the 90's. A nice fox body could be had for 3k and became the car of choice. So put those in the hands of every person from different walks of life and you are going to have crashes. A stock fox bodies will burn tires forever rather easily. I owned 4 fox bodies a 2001 and 2013 so I was around and in it for 25 years

My '16 Roush Mustang was WAY, WAY, WAY more tail happy than my Hellcat. Also, the stability control system was sucky compared to every other car I've ever owned. Seemed like it would let the car get too squirrely, then slam on to shut it down. Other cars have a more seamless, subtle approach of slowly 'rolling in' that makes getting things under control much easier.

I personally do not have anything against mustangs, I've had a 66 convertible, 69 Mach 1, 78 Cobra :)ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:), 87 GT and rented a 24 when we went to Radford so I could drive it and I am considering a Dark Horse now.

Not like mustangs. They are a league of their own

We have em undercover highway patrol. Had one try to mess with me on the highway, I don’t street race. It was a mustang speeding up and slowing down, I gave him the thumbs down (as I do with all slow cars) sped off. Guess he found someone to race because he had someone pulled over further down the road lol
