With that much pull it may be slowing the rotational speed of the crank and rods. Wait...now I have to rethink this.:giggle:
I know Mike said the magnet would not come off, but what if it did ? where would it go or possibly end up at, just stay in the pan or grab something rotating ?
Our engines have windage trays don't they ?
I guess a loose magnet would prob. stick to that or oil pick up screen / tube ?

I think I answered my own question, but need others input / thoughts ?

Mike is the Hellcat God. He has ties to NASA, laboratories, machine shops, and other really top secret, high tech stuff. He would NEVER let that happen. NEVER. How dare you. HOW DARE YOU! (Yeah.... thought occurred to me.)

Yeah, how dare me, but the concerns are there, best to ask the questions first than to ask after something happens.
I'm sure it'll be excellently made, just wondering what if. ;)

Seriously, I wouldn't give it a thought. The magnet is recessed/press fit into the bolt. If it ever became dislodged the goddam thing is so powerful it would pull itself to the nearest ferrous metal (ie. the bolt) and wouldn't get swept up into the current and go into the assembly. It would come out with the bolt on the next oil change.

I agree, if it comes off, I guess it will just stick to the bolt, so to that point it might get loose ( if possible ) but should still stay on the bolt.

I feel better now.

The magnet will be attached to a steel drain plug, it isn't going anywhere:)
I actually put one on my car last year on it's first oil change. Only thing I didn't like about it, it uses an aluminum washer. Not really sure why they couldn't make it like a factory one. I may be in for one of these also. Sounds like it has a more powerful magnet
If it helps pulling the crank around does it mean I have an electric car or just a hybrid I guess:unsure:

Magnets are press fit into the plugs at least 1/4”, and have loctite 680 on them as well and sometimes JB Weld, probably have to bust them to get one out. Have no worries of them coming loose, I wouldn’t use them myself if I had worries, I’ve been making them for decades for industrial equipment and my vehicles, keeps me from having to send oils out for metal analysis, the magnets tell me what I need to know!! I have them in everything, my transmissions have 2 huge ones in them with opposing polarities so they make a field between them. My lawn mowers even have them in them lol. This one was for the kids RX8

Yep, I make them too lol. Next time under the car I’ll show you a picture of a wrench sticking to the out side of the trans fill snd drain plugs lol. The trans fill plug is a perfect place because the splash off of 234 gears is directed right towards it so it catches everything

So today being it was supposed to rain and it didn’t LOL so I did a leak down test on cylinders that were easy to get to which was 3, 5 and 7, 7 was the problem child that lead to this rebuild had to be honed the most due to a hair of heat distortion ( honed out only .0025” to get perfectly round and no taper) and became the target cylinder for the rest, it only has 1 1/2 % leak down at the moment I think that’s pretty damn good for gapped style rings COLD and less then 75 miles of run time!! No idea on the A8, but most auto’s already have a bunch of magnets in their pans already usually right where fluid returns are dumping back in plus autos have filters on the pic up, HC M6’s just recirculate the stuff, out to cooler and back no filter.
