That's surprising single the 555R2 is a drag radial.
Im thinking at the track it would be a different story but they could be better on the street

Agree, but happily surprised they do!! My first 60-130 pull I spun the entire trip, I was like WTF these tires SUCK!! The tire guy asked me how much air I want in them and I told him 30 lbs. in my rush to get out to make a hit I didn’t check them with a tire gauge and to my surprise, happily surprised, after the pull I looked on the car display and they were 45 psi lol I lowered them to 30 and it took almost a whole second off the time. Still netted a max G of .81

Unfortunately no, my time was taken up this past weekend nursing our 15 year old in her last days, she got here wings on Monday and is now with her buddy that passed on Christmas Eve 2 years ago. :(

Miss you Lexi Doo :(

This past few weeks have not been easy. The hardest thing in life is to make a decision to end the life of some thing you love so much, I don’t think there’s anything harder in the world that I’ve ever done.

To try and get my mind off things I finished the Bang Shift Billy install for track day coming up. I have a set of redeye fuel rails to port tomorrow. Maybe I’ll get a chance to test rails and see what this other rail actually outputs as well which would help prove it not a bum sensor in my RE rails.
Sorry for your loss.

Tire report. I put the Continentals on and the Draggy says they gripped better then the just above the wear bars 305 Nitto 555R2’s

The last 2 60-130 pulls on the 555’s

A 30,000 mile rated tire! (15,000 mile rating on the rear)

Not bad 4 for 1100 bucks!! Maybe I found a tire that will last me a year lol.

The Continental is a good street tire.
Next time try looking at the Falken 295/40/20 for the rear. Their a little taller but doesn't hurt on the street and takes up some fender well gap which looks better. 300 tread wear summer tire & my buddy manager at Discount Tire lets them go for $215 a piece. Almost as good as a drag radial but for street use they are awesome.
B. Mason just got them & likes them & when I wear out my 555R2's I'll get them next for the price & street use.

Tire update, they keep getting better as they have flattened themselves out to the pavement even more. The Conti’s are pulling times just the same as new 555R2’s did but the Conti’s have 3x the thread depth and would be totally happy in the rain or surprise unavoidable at speed wet spot or puddle around a corner.

I’m liking them!!👍🏻👍🏻

Todays last hit, no time changes no nothing but wearing in but you can’t see much thread gone at all. Wearing edge to edge now on the little dots all around the inside and outside edges to judge contact patch with. Great little additions!!

And getting consistently quicker and VERY consistent 35F to 65 F same patch of concrete.

Compared to the just above the wear bars 555R2’s the last 10-15 runs prior to the Conti’s.

I was really happy with the PS4s tire on my last car. It would handle 40 rolls no problem. Michellen did a video on the compound I’ll have to look for it

Guy on the other forum was selling them, he had 5 pairs of them, kept going down and down in price with them. Got first set for 600 second pair for 500. I was skeptical at first about them griping but they came through like the guy said, as good as the Nitto’s he told me and he was right. Fresh tires too, made in the 42nd week of 22.

My favorite car show today at a local college ASME class holds. Brand new 4wd Mustang dyno, it’s first day of use.
What ya’ll think the cats going to put down on it? Won the show last year highest HP🏆

My 1 o’clock appointment turned into 3:30 (show was supposed to be over at 3) even with a Mustang Dyno rep there and they had a hard time getting cars set up right, they where using chains fir the back end which I didn’t like at all as there isn’t even a scratch on the underbody of my car and they were using wheel speed for a engine rpm reference which I think was off with allot of cars as there was a @jonx96 tuned Super Stock there that only made 640 to the tire. It was so dicey, like someone was going to get hurt dicey. 2 of my friends bowed out and got their money back, I contemplated doing the same but the crowd hung out mostly to see my car run so I didn’t want to disappoint. After seeing my best friends Mustang make 1 good hit after restrapping it down 3 times. He made 675, makes around 725 on our usual local Dynojet so I decided to give it a whirl thinking they were getting their shit together finally. I put a towel around each lower control arm to protect it from the chains and then came speed calibration time, well the first 2 mph produced a clunk clunk clunk and I hit the brakes, thought a chain was around an axle, turned out the chains where pushing against my exhaust pipe and moved it over enough it was hitting my DS. After 3 attempts to restrap, even trying to do it myself I called it quits and decided to get off the dyno, they needed straps not chains. Next car on the dyno was a WRX, that almost turned deadly, a strap was up against the exhaust and burned off producing this.
14F6195F-0757-40E1-989B-CE7BCC9522CC.jpeg
They shut the dyno down after that. At that point, now after 5, I finally went home myself, I was baked by the sun, we all were. My Mustang buddy took the trophy home this year, he was happy and me happy for him. It’s the same trophy as last year and it really wasn’t the reason I wanted to run, it was for the roar of the crowd and for the Hellcat/Mopar POWER statement.
52D57C40-C45C-45E6-8366-43ACF76A8ED7.jpeg

My 4800 lb car with 1000+ to the tire if it came loose, which was all I could think of all day watching these guys all day and why I said no as it would have been disastrous. So I guess next outing is track rental day May 5 for some real power play, praying for good weather 🤞🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻
My favorite show of the year was a bust this year, for many. I should’ve stayed home and started on changing out the kids engine in his 8.

Damn, you’d think for liability issues alone these dudes would have their shit together. Think if that WRX would’ve jumped off and injured or even killed someone. 😳 Glad you didn’t screw your car up👍
