My 1 o’clock appointment turned into 3:30 (show was supposed to be over at 3) even with a Mustang Dyno rep there and they had a hard time getting cars set up right, they where using chains fir the back end which I didn’t like at all as there isn’t even a scratch on the underbody of my car and they were using wheel speed for a engine rpm reference which I think was off with allot of cars as there was a
@jonx96 tuned Super Stock there that only made 640 to the tire. It was so dicey, like someone was going to get hurt dicey. 2 of my friends bowed out and got their money back, I contemplated doing the same but the crowd hung out mostly to see my car run so I didn’t want to disappoint. After seeing my best friends Mustang make 1 good hit after restrapping it down 3 times. He made 675, makes around 725 on our usual local Dynojet so I decided to give it a whirl thinking they were getting their shit together finally. I put a towel around each lower control arm to protect it from the chains and then came speed calibration time, well the first 2 mph produced a clunk clunk clunk and I hit the brakes, thought a chain was around an axle, turned out the chains where pushing against my exhaust pipe and moved it over enough it was hitting my DS. After 3 attempts to restrap, even trying to do it myself I called it quits and decided to get off the dyno, they needed straps not chains. Next car on the dyno was a WRX, that almost turned deadly, a strap was up against the exhaust and burned off producing this.

They shut the dyno down after that. At that point, now after 5, I finally went home myself, I was baked by the sun, we all were. My Mustang buddy took the trophy home this year, he was happy and me happy for him. It’s the same trophy as last year and it really wasn’t the reason I wanted to run, it was for the roar of the crowd and for the Hellcat/Mopar POWER statement.

My 4800 lb car with 1000+ to the tire if it came loose, which was all I could think of all day watching these guys all day and why I said no as it would have been disastrous. So I guess next outing is track rental day May 5 for some real power play, praying for good weather 🤞🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻
My favorite show of the year was a bust this year, for many. I should’ve stayed home and started on changing out the kids engine in his 8.
