Hi from Camano Island, WA.

2017 Challenger Hellcat, ~40k miles on it, manual transmission, flat black hood as the only option. It has some sort of exhaust on it, a catch can, and the wheels aren't stock. Bought it in centralish California and drove it back to Washington on highway 101 mostly.

It needs a bit of love (a bit more than I expected...) to be as nice as I want it, but I'll get it there.

My first Mopar vehicle, all of my other cars are GM (other baby is a 2012 CTS-V Coupe and my daily is a 2008 Saturn Sky Redline, all manuals)

Plan is to drag race it a bit so I've got the P4D DIRS and the race brace, just for a little peace of mind as I plan on picking up a set of rims and drag radials. View attachment 88729 View attachment 88730

Challenger. Destroyer gray. Manual is less computer-involved, hence the attraction to that, unless I forced an automatic to only shift on user intervention.

Drag racing if I cautiously upgraded the underpinnings to avoid surprise damage. But, once you dip your toe in, I heard it can get pretty involved and expensive.

I'm an M6 driver, but unless you do serious upgrades to an M6, you never catch those A8s, they are the real ticket for 1/4mile.

I do Standing Mile, that's where the M6 shines because it's overall a more efficient trans.

Do they have standing two-mile races, or is the closest thing the Silver State Classic?
Drag racing is not my thing, but I would, as I said, if I made sure it had safety underpinnings. But, it would be more of a Time Attack thing than a "haha, I reacted 1 millionth of a second faster than you" thing. Paying for drag strip time so some unknown-species thing in a Tesla can beat me while it's doing a Youtube video about its supremacy now proving that all ICE-engine owners are bigoted nazis who are Murdering Us All With Carbon Dioxide somehow fails to appeal.

Ah, but being future-minded, I like to leave the option for an aftermarket racing transmission, and a manual has a LOT of different things that can fill that slot. I know there are upgrades available to automatics, such as replacing it with a TH400, but I just like manual transmissions. Liberties, Lencos, Hewlands, etc., single-clutch and dual-clutch.

I used to want to do the Silver State Classic.

But at least when I checked into the actual people that run it, and the sanctioning body hurdles that are put in place, I no longer have an interest in playing their silly-ass games.

They don't want new blood, they only seem interested in their own group, anybody else seems to be treated as an outsider and deterred from participating.
