Might be a dumb question, I’m new to swapping fuels. Are you guys depressurizing the fuel system before hooking these up, or just sticking one end in the gas can first and twist the other end on at the fuel rail.. and any pressure will shoot off in the gas can? Trying not to make a mess lol

What’s the button for? I have the same line, I just screw it in it’s fine it won’t leak, put the line in the can at first if you want. Just drained fuel last week

Had a crew over here installing a furnace/AC yesterday. One “senior” dude was a car lover. Had to uncover my mistress and fire it up. Still has the bypass pipes on it. Fuck it sounds bad ass! Had not listened to that since early November I think. When I told him what that thing achieves for speed up the big straight at BIR with the Donnybrook configuration, the expression on his face was precious.:love::love:

First oil change at just about 6 months and just under 1500 miles. I initially was going to have my local dealer do it to spike the football after cancelling my purchase with them and saving a small fortune by going elsewhere, especially when I heard some horror stories of the oil filter being unGodly tight...but I changed my mind and I'm glad I did.

Race Ramps gave me plenty of room. I have access to a Quick Jack (and several 2-post lifts) amongst my neighbors if need be but I thought for something super easy and relatively fast the Race Ramps are perfect, and I've likewise offered their use to my neighbors if they don't wanna hassle with their gear and just need to do something quickly.

I also grabbed the Fumoto valves using the part numbers that one of y'all jokers provided so future changes will be that much faster. I already had an oil filter magnet so while I see the need for magnetic drain plugs wherever they can be used, I've been real satisfied in the past with Fumoto valves, especially if you're doing oil analysis, makes taking a sample too easy.

I had a breaker bar handy for the filter just in case and while it was snug, it wasn't on there any tighter than it should have been and came off easily with an oil filter wrench. Likewise the oil pan and cooler drain plugs came off the way they should have and I appreciate the advice of keeping a crescent wrench on the oil cooler to prevent the lines from getting tweaked.

Factory filter was black and marked as such:

I'm pretty banged up with seemingly innumerable orthopedic trauma related surgeries to spine/hip/leg/arm/etc. but this was hardly taxing and it took more time for the oil to drain than anything else.

Knowing my dealer would very likely NOT drain the oil cooler (and wash my ceramic coated car with their janky azz car wash) I'm glad I did it myself and wouldn't skip that step as it's too easy...and there's definitely plenty of old oil in there that could contaminate the sexy new oil.

The 7 quarts of Pennzoil Ultra Platinum Full Synthetic 0W-40, Wix SRT equivalent filter and Fumoto valves were $120, the Race Ramps were $430 so while it wasn't a "cheap" oil change the combination of doing it myself and not having my local dealer touch my car are priceless. Besides, the more I use the ramps the cheaper they get; the second time it'll cost $215 per use, the third $143 and so on...that's my "theory of utility"...which my wife just LOVES. :rolleyes::p:ROFLMAO:

Yep. These days you don't have to call customer service and get wild and untimely guesses.

Instead, a hopelessly inaccurate web page shows the theoretical progress of the vehicle order.
Basically, the graph shows my order at the lowest end of the scale...but that doesn't mean it's not already built in real life.
Yep according to the "tracker" my Super Stock that I picked up in August should arrive any time now:ROFLMAO::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I have never been a fan of driving my car onto ramps. If it works for you that is great. I would rather jack my car up. Also I do my oil change after the car has sat a few hours or in the morning before I drive it so driving onto ramps wouldn't work for me

When I changed my car’s oil the first time the rubber seal from the filter stuck to the block. 😳 Glad I caught it. I didn’t realize they stamped the factory filters with “factory installed”. Either I missed it or possibly the dealer had changed the oil but the car was bought new so 🤷🏼‍♂️
